I woke up this morning with the desire to start work on a modern day mod for Vicky. So far I've only been able to create and set flags for a few new countries: Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon. I plan on installing the no time limit patch and starting work on a proper modern day scenario later today. Anyway here is a pic of the middle east that I've put together. I've changed the names of a few provinces, like Jerush is now Irbid. But I can't figure out how to change the name on the Map. Is that possible? Anyway, any suggestions comments or cries of anguish are welcome.

You cannot change a provinces name on the map though(its hardcoded )


Their are a couple of problems though
1. How are you going to handle airplanes( no airplane unit in Victoria )
2. How are you going to handle naval units?

Not to be a spoil-sport, but this is the umtenth "Hey let's make a Modern Day scenario!" thread... Modern Day scen without aircraft, nukes, tanks etc = somewhat silly.

Very good questions there. I'm still contemplating that. I'm sure its somehow possible to add that sort of unit, because I see all sorts of airplane related stuff from HOI in the various configuration files. Anyway, maybe I'll tinker with it and see if I can figure anything out.

Well a modern day scenario for any of Paradox's games is unfortunatly silly. I mean you won't have HOI style calvary running around in the modern age, for example. Here's hoping that Paradox one day gifts us niche market with a more modern game so we don't look so silly in the forums.
