My computer cannot run the EU IV

I downloaded the demo and it does not work. I can see the loading screens but after that there is a message ,,there is a problem occured in this application. The EU IV will now be closed,, (this is only the translation of the text). I have the Ati X 1950 pro 256 MB, Athlon X2 4400+ and 2 GB RAM, Win. XP SP3. I think my 256 graphics memory should be a problem because the game officialy demands 512 graphics memory. But I play CK 2 and March of the Eagles with no problems and it is fast enough. CK2 officialy requires 512 Mb graphics memory too. So is my graphics card a problem ? Any chance to run it with 256 mb graphics memory ?

The problem you describe is a general crash of the game, and may or may not be caused by your system. I'm not sure whether there is any chance of changing the settings outside of the game, it may be a case of simply using more memory than you have, which may be solved by decreasing the resolution and other graphical settings.

Knab, you should have no problems. Slavkov I'd say the primary suspect would be the graphics card like you said.

I'm asking becaus of some weird bug I've just experienced with the demo; in the seas (both known and unknown) appeared the black shapes of the continents plus some strange "marsh" textures in the persian gulf. Mfw: LOLWUT

You may need to turn your graphics down just a tad to fix this.

Your GPU not only has 256MB, but it is seven years old, so this might also be a driver issue. I don't know how ATI/AMD drivers works, but Nvidia stops supporting older cards in the drivers after some time, and this can lead to problems in some games.

Like with any Paradox game you can change the video settings through the Settings.ini file in the EUIV folder.

The 1950x was abandoned a long time ago.

But yeah, your PC doesn't fit the requirements.

I lowered multisample to 0 and cut some extras like trees, water [...]. But the "shadows" are still there.

Another thing may be to simply update your graphics drivers, that helps often as well.

Rather than start a new thread:

Load up the demo "out of range", edit settings to 60hz from 240.
Start game, load screen progresses up to "loading flags" then I get a run-time error.
