Hi,

I really love CiM2 and would enjoy it all the time. But: adjusting the ticket prices takes like I feel 50% of my time to keep it white. Where is the fun of clicking millions of buttons? Please add an option so the prices are automatically updated.

Best regards

Instead of automatically adjusting the ticket prices, they should fix the actual problem and change the algorithm, so that the prices don't change so rapidly.

+1 for that. Auto adjust the price would be good very useful, but the real problem is ticket prices perception changing every day when not every hour.

At some point the whole ticket thing makes the game unplayable. After a few hours of playing, prices jump from red to blue and back at the speed of the cpu clock. Looks like in a disco. Besides ticket adjusting being the most boring minigame in modern game history. And that it makes absolutly no sense, why a ticket for all of the transports costs 4 times less than one only for the metro.

Absolutely right!! It makes no sense at all. I don't know about other cities, but here in New York fares never go down. You do get a discount for a monthly metrocard, but it's very small.

Agreed. I understand time is compressed, but most transit companies change price, maybe, once/year. NOT several times/day! Plus an auto price adjuster. I want to create a mass transit system not baby sit ticket prices. The absolutely laughable thing about ticket prices is sometimes a higher zone will turn red at the same price or, rarely, a LOWER price than the zone below it. If you are trying to simulate an economic system, tell me in what system do yu pay less to go farther? This needs to be fixed NOW!

I agree with the posts above, this is one of the more annoying things in the game at the moment. It's a shame, because I'm a big fan of economic simulation, and it could've been done really well in this game.

I only let them in a "ciano"/green level forever, ignoring the "low price" notification and only looking at "high price" ones. This way, I rarely have to adjust prices. I play in normal difficulty, and it doesn't affect my profit so much at all.

It sometimes seems that they are adjusting the prices by time of day - so that you charge more to travel during the morning and evening rush periods, and less for overnight. It would be better to set a standard day rate cost, and then be able to set %adjustments by the various periods, by route if needed. Then you only need to make adjustments to the standard cost to cover inflation or deflation, and to manage the number of customers, no more than weekly.

the biggest flaw is that they try to simulate the economy when nobody lowers prices for services except for promotional purposes. The price of a haircut doesn't go down when the economy sags, it simply remains flat. Only products have price fluctuation based on supply and demand. Services are priced much more linearly

I think the problem is not the economy but different social classes having different price perception. In different times of the day, one type of social class use more the services than other. I see sometimes prices going from red to white or blue immediately. That is probably because business people are happy with the price while students are not happy at all.

Some UK train routes have this issue; longer journeys are frequently cheaper than shorter ones, for instance, some journeys to London are more expensive than journeys that involve changing trains in London and finishing elsewhere. Even more weirdly, some journeys have different prices depending on which direction you're going in!

In any case, my point is that I too play CIM2 to make a mass transit system, not tweak a spreadsheet, and would love automatic ticket prices. Ticket prices are complicated in real life and CIM2 does reflect that, but having the player tweak them constantly doesn't necessarily make for good gameplay. I loved the mod for CIM1 that automated that process for me, and would love the same for CIM2 please :)

agree to all the posts above. this pricing system is nothing but annoying.
automatic prices would not make the game easier, because it doesn't make any difference if you keep prices white every minute or if it is automatically done.

Yes I agree going to the center of the major city costs extra. If you want to go to New York City in New Jersey you pay a premium on NJTransit. However, the way the zones are setup in this game that is not necessarily what is happening. There is a very basic zone system in this game and there are times when the 4 zone ticket goes red at a lower cost than a 3 zone ticket. That's like saying I am going from suburban point x that is 1 mile away from the city and I will pay $10, whereas the other guy lives in suburban point y that is 5 miles from the city and I only pay $2.
