As would I, as would I. But the future and Launch beckons... and I would be a part of that. Let's make the most of it. :bow:nah given the choice I would much rather be in the old forums rather then here.
That's... surprisingly apt as a description. The old forums were okay-ish for a small pre-release beta community, but it would have fallen like a Locust hit with an AC/20 in each leg on release of the game. Plus, these forums have a lot of nifty tools we never had and probably would never get. At least from my point of view, this is without question an improvement.I have no particularly strong feelings either way towards our hosts; however they did effectively give us a home when ours was falling down around our ears.
Hah, I've had the opportunity to play with a replica Babbage machine, and I've gotten up close with Colossus at Bletchley Park (now that I think about it, a former colleague now works there so I might try and see if I'm allowed to go hands on!)
Random chat-bots pass the Turing test on occasion.I wonder if anyone is giving the Turing test to AI's. Wouldnt it be great if a games AI were to achieve 'Sentience' just because someone was thorough enough in the testing.
And, also frequently misunderstood, passing the Turing test doesn't mean that the machine is intelligent, just that it responds in a way that a human can't tell the difference between the machine and a human.Random chat-bots pass the Turing test on occasion.
The test doesn't actually mean much, it's just a mile marker on the way to better AI.
The flaw in the Turing test is the idea that humans are the best judges of reality.
