I already miss the HBS Battletech forums. They seemed much more easily understood somehow.

Probably got used to the Forum channels I frequented there and the navigation here is "different" somehow.

Just wondering if anyone else felt the same?

There's an adjustment. Kind of like buying a new car.
This one has more many more useful features, but we may not be used to how it handles. Doesn't mean you didn't love the old one. Eventually the new one will be second nature.
For my part I'm already pretty comfortable here.

I've already settled in. This forum has some nice features. I liked where we were, I like where we are, and I love the additional exposure we can get here.

I miss a few things from the old forums, but the speed of these forums is a massive feature for me.

Posting on a mobile was a real drag on the old forums.

I found that the other site was more mobile friendly. I will admit that the loading time was annoying, but the feature controls were larger and easier to access from a touchscreen.

I liked the look and feel of the old ones much better but say la ve (wow auto correct really doesn't like French). This is what we got so I for one am gonna put up with the suck and so my best to enjoy it.

I agree that the "helpful, agree, disagree" buttons are a bit small on mobile. I always zoom in because I feel like I am going to fat finger them.

I get that. I am a chronic typo/miss key -er (I like to go Fast!) thus I do have this problem. But it's not too unforgiving considering visual size.

However, everything on the other site (aside from visual formatting) on the mod end was absolute hell to use on mobile for me.

It's like my new keyboard, I miss my $30 Logitech one as it fit my hands and all the keys were spaced perfectly after six years of using the same models over and over. But my goodness, change the orientation of some keys to make it more compact and I'm making 300% more typographical errors or "oh crap CTRL-Z!" errors than I used to. I don't like it.

But as my other one had the Windows key sensor stick in the "active" position and it wouldn't fix itself? I needed a new keyboard on the cheap - fast.

I miss the list of recent HBS posts on the side of the old forum. Made it easier to keep up with what was going on if I had not checked the forum for a couple of days.

True, that was nice. Too bad it'd broken for me and only showed one topic only.

You can effectively make your own dev tracker by Following the Devs you want to track and then looking at your News Feed to see the latest posts by them. I’d rather that it didn’t include Agree/Disagree and just had posts, but it works well enough.

I've followed all 29 "HBS_" Devs. Following their comments has always been a highlight of the BATTLETECH-experience for me. Tracking what they find "helpful," etc can be very illumining. :bow:
