Hello!
We just took the decision to revert back to 1.30.4 for now, as the quality was not what we expected.
We are looking into ways to fix the issues as soon as possible, and will get back to you when we have more news.
Sorry!
//EDIT//
The release of the recent Europa Universalis IV update has clearly been a mistake and has damaged a lot of the faith many of you have. We did not expect that this update would corrupt ironman games or significantly affect multiplayer, and clearly it should have gone through much more testing.
We are reverting the Nakama update, so that going forward people will be playing with the version of Europa Universalis IV that was live before this update, 1.30.4.
We cannot, of course, roll back your saved games if you have already had them corrupted by this update. No reversion can undo problems that have already occurred, but can prevent more people from encountering them.
Before we return to the Nakama update, we intend more extensive testing to better identify any additional problems, and will explore the feasibility of a public beta. We apologize for ruining the Europa Universalis IV experience that so many of you have been having.
I know in the game dev world, testing and bug fixes are an essential part of creating a product.
Did you guys even test this patch? Like, at all?
If people are reporting crashes with actions as simple as opening the estates menu, surely you saw this during bug testing, right?
So does that mean you just ignored it?
Multiplayer has been bugged since 1.29.
It boggles my mind that a game with a team of dozens of members can release a version of the game that literally crashes people’s computers on startup.
Should we start tagging the game on steam as a ‘joke game’?
I guess a bad patch is not the end of the world, but that’s not what people are upset about. What people are upset about is the continued and consistent ignorance to integral game issues, and the lack of visible accountability.
Multiplayer de-syncs every single time you try to host with over 8 people.
Game crashes when you try to access estates.
This feels like the closed beta for a game that hasn’t come out yet. At this point, can you at least give details of the problem so people can fix it themselves?
There is a new reason that people mod the game. It’s not to enhance the experience, it’s to allow the game to run.
