I wish to not have the following be able to occur in hoi iv

1) Ninja Landings. Amphibious invasions need to really be rethought. If it was as easy as hoi 3 and 2 and 1 have made them the allies would have sent 1 paratrooper brigade to take a port and then rebase the transports carrying their entire army to mass mob Berlin. Or ninja landing rome and taking all Italy"s resources

2) inland retreating- please this obvious bug has never been addressed in hoi 3 reguardless of how many times it was brought up.

3) Doom stacks. I have played this game series both single player and multiplayer since 2003 yes over a decade. Hoi 1 1.04c (I believe) naval warfare was giant stacks of submarines that massacred anything that floated. 10 years later in hoi 3 it's carrier doom stacks (atleast were making progress since carriers are more plausible then submarines)

4) exploiting supplies. Back in the day if you didn't build supplies you got dissent, hince people built supplies. So they used to keep completed units in the que as to not supply them. This was fixed but for some reason now you can just not build supplies again. Why fix one exploit and bring back another.

5) don't put features that are broken from the get go just because their cool, like lowering national unity for example. I like cool stuff but not if there broken and don't ever get fixed.

6) Albania shouldn't ever be able to conquer the world solo in 10 years. I love the sandbox concept but this is done when game mechanics are broken.

7) Rockets love them, but a v1 is not a nuke and if Germany could have stopped the red army in its tracks by turning all the infrastructure on the eastern front to nothing with v1"a they would have probably done so.

Ditto for strategic bombers on log strike

8) Building reserves in the current model, enough said

9) Oil/Fuel, what's the point of even having this if you won't ever run out? Again back in the day you"d have to stock up oil as Germany pre war. I remember having to bribe Venezuela into getting me 80+ a day to stock in order to make it through the war. Now even when fielding over 100 armored brigades storming into russia you don't even get low.

10) Convoy Exploiting, what's the point of convoy raiding when Uk can simply turn them off and on and get 10 million rares in one day.

I can go on probably, but you get the idea.

100% Agree to all forms of exploit/bug smashing whether it's SP or MP related. I want Multiplayer in HoI4 to be fun and replayable and not annoying/repetitive where I have to worry constantly about the other players getting an unfair advantage over me due to there being a million and one exploits and bugs or even bad features that isn't addressed from passed games or appear as new ones.

One I can think of off hand myself is being able to lend lease 100% of your IC to another nation. Perhaps an artificial limit to how much you can lend lease to a single country or in total?

Agree with Stukov. HoI 4 Beta should also be played by HoI 3 MP Players, since that is also an important part of the game, with mostly people who know almost all ins and outs. Sadly enough multiplayer was never really good supported in HoI 3, which left the community itself to fix a lot of issues.

1) would easily be solved by having a limit on loading/unloading capacities on harbours as well as having it take time.

10) would probably not be in HOI4 since convoys will be on the map and will be part of the naval battle system. Hopefully this means convoys will form up and move as a fleet on the map, needing it to reach its destination physically for materials to be unloaded.

These are the types of things that should be hammered on in this forum so hoi iv is the great game we all hope it will be right from release. There will always be bugs or issues, but my point is some of these issues like doom stacks for example have been a problem for 10 years man.

Agreed with all items.

Also. As stated above, HOI4 should be beta tested by multiplayer groups.

Why? Because we find all the exploits. We muck up the balance. Then we slap eachother with rules.

Its what we do.

I would add to this list a few items, but I imagine none of them could be corrected at this juncture in development.

Definitely agree. If anyone is going to find exploits or bugs, it's the multiplayer group.

Adding Stukov's list, please get rid of the random partisan spawn and the OOS problem in multiplayer.

Also add Manpower in general to this list

I understand the manpower system is probably being redone but it would be nice to not completely run out of manpower by 1941, heaven forbid you build reserves as I addressed above then you can probably run out of manpower in 1939

I really would like to see a completely new manpower system. I hated the way hoi2 handled manpower and in hoi3 no countries besides major powers ever had any to do anything with and the major powers as stated would run out them selves easy. They need one made from scratch or heavily revamped to represent the massive conscription the USSR did and the large amount of Volks units Germany amassed for example.

Normally I'm not a lover of moans (even if I write a lot of them myself) but the OP is nothing but on-point here: a lot of this stuff has been going on since HOI1 and should have been fixed ages ago.

So someone mind educating a relative Troglodyte here; What exactly is wrong with reserve units as is right now?

In HOI3, reserve units can be horribly abused for very cheap IC costs.

In the real world, reserve units still have to have the equipment they need. The manpower is just not on active duty. In HOI3, I can cut the cost of a panzer division down by half just by building it as reserve and paying the very cheap reinforcement cost.

Don't forget about laws in HOI3. Since laws apply to all units in production, switching laws mid production can yield all the benefits of high level laws with low level law costs. When I played my first game of HOI3 ever I discovered this exploit and I wasn't even trying to look for it. Like, how did the collective group of hundreds of beta testers over thousands of games played not notice that if you switch exp laws that the effect is instant and all units keep the exp even if you switch to a lower law?

Don't forget about laws in HOI3. Since laws apply to all units in production, switching laws mid production can yield all the benefits of high level laws with low level law costs. When I played my first game of HOI3 ever I discovered this exploit and I wasn't even trying to look for it. Like, how did the collective group of hundreds of beta testers over thousands of games played not notice that if you switch exp laws that the effect is instant and all units keep the exp even if you switch to a lower law?
Hm, that is not true ?
Experience is accrued through training, and the law has an effect during building. So, while you have specialist training laws, your units get more xp per day, but are completed slowlier, and while you have basic training, you'll get less exp per day, but the unit will get more progress % per day.
So much for that "exploit".

Build a unit to 70% completion using specialist training. Switch to minimal training. Unit comes out with 20% experience and you built it on minimalist time. So much for your "rebuttal".

This is what separates the MP players from the SP players. You read the descriptions of the laws and take them at face value. A good MP player knows this can be abused because he tests it, which is ironically something the beta testers never do.
