I'm currently in my first playthrough with the Reaper's Due.

I started as Flanders, and it's essentially a survival game since the Aztecs and the Mongols arrived in the middle of the 8th century, but the most dangerous enemy has been the Umayyad.

It wouldn't be a problem if my allies din't constantly send their troops at the exact opposite of where the (defensive) wars take place. Here are some screenshots from the last one :

Neither of my allies is engaged in another war. They don't have raiders. The Umayyad territory is only in Hispania/Aquitaine.
I don't understand why they send their troops that way. There is no target, no reason to go there. It isn't even a weird path finding. Sometimes they turn back early, sometimes they are still going east when the war is over, and sometimes they are ping-ponging between eastern Italy and Provence.

The AI in CK2 has never been brilliant and I remember other cases similar to this one. But this has become really annoying. Should I report this as a bug ? Is there anything I can do ? Currently most wars are won sometimes thanks to the use of tricks to manipulate my allies armies, but more often by recruiting mercenaries and consireding my allies as bonus troops when they decide to go in the good direction. It's not fun, and certainly not working as intended...

(On a side note : a similar problem, earlier in the same game : my allies decide to send their troops against an other army, despite our army being outnumbered in Forez. Well, at least I can understand how it worked this time, since they have a target. Still annoying, though.

I have that happen too. Or at least similar.

I noticed that allied-troops act quite strange since the conclave patch. They either get stuck in one county or dont care at all if my army is getting attacked right next to them.
It would be best if they just join up with the nearest stack of my soldiers so I have them unter control.
