Jumped into the war as the US in May '40...France still overrun, but helped the Brits take North Africa, then Italy. Had the opportunity to liberate Italy as the 'Italian Social Republic'...that historically was the German puppet government of Italy after the defection of Italy to the allies. Since Mussolini was still around in 'Italy', I went with that one...poof, now he's on both sides.
Here we are in '45 and he's still in power in a socially liberal democratic society.
The 'real' Italy should have defected after armies landed on the Italian boot...
or at least only have on Mussolini at a time... :rofl:
