Muslim Ruler: Guardian choice being overruled

Hello there,

I've recently picked up CK2 and decided to try my hand as a muslim ruler. I thought I was being smart picking wives with great education traits so I can make sure my kids are able to pick those up. But when I assign a child to be educated by her own mother, I get a popup that says "so and so mayor will gladly accept the education contract for my child." This mayor is a nitwit with no good education trait, compared to my first wife who is a genius intricate shadow weaver.

Am I doing something wrong? Do I not get to pick who the guardian is unless I set it to me? The main ruler is educating the first two children. This one is the third and the first I've tried to have educated by my wives (this specific one is my main wife).

Thanks a lot for the help. Going to go back to a Western country until I can figure this out.

Don't bother trying to assign girls a gaurdian, they will be given one on thier own and if you do asign it, someone else will likely take over guardianship anyways.

And really though, it's a muslim girl, her education wont matter as you can matri-marry and you'll never be able to play as her.

Ok. Good to know. I thought I had messed something up and was worried the same thing would happen if I tried to have a wife tutor a son.

Isn't only your wife capable of being a Spymaster?

Even so... meh. You have a billion kids, you can just as easily take your fifth son and train him to be Spymaster. Having him serve on the council will nullify any decadence... though then you will have a son with crazy intrigue skills just chilling at court. No way that isn't asking for trouble. "WTF?! HOW HAVE ALL EIGHT OF MY SONS BEEN MURDERED?!"

You should just be able to reject the vassal's offer. Not that, as is said, it particularly matters for girls in a muslim game. I just like to make sure all my children have the best education possible anyway.
