In the past, when I built a naval factory, the music turned sour.

two days ago in the evening I was playing the Netherlands in 'the age of mercantilism'.
In order not to ruin the music, I did not built an extra naval factory. To my surprise, somewhere at the end of the 17th century the music suddenly did start sounding awful.

Today I downloaded the music.zip. "If I cannt play it from thegame, I can at l+east play it in the background", I thought.

To my surprise the turkst.mp3 file produced the horrible sound I dislike so much.

So it seems to be planned, and not the program bug I have always assumed it to be.
Am I alone in my distaste for this music? Any suggestions for replacements? Can I replace it in anyway other than the play in the background way?

Röger,

first of all: welcome to the forum! Willkommen!

I currently use a free downloadable track from the 2nd of Bachs Brandenburger concerts. You can find it at
http://www.karadar.com/Dictionary/bach.html

I must admit that Bach is not everybodies favorite. I do not like his violin compositions, but I do like his variations on "Ein fester Burg" and I just downloaded Goldberg varianntions - I hope to try them tonight.

I play them in the background, using windows media player.

Same for me! With massive amounts of Leonard Cohen lately, even if it's not of the right time period as CP's Bach. :)

hehe, i sit and listen to heavy metal, probobly as far away from this timeperiod as possible :) :D

i stay up late and play, have radio for company, so its either alternative music in all its glory or repeat english language radio broadcasts from places like the netherlands, finland, sweden or australia. CBC is a good programmer.
