No no no...music appreciation starts in the mists of post-roman europe with the gregorian monk chants and moved through the middle ages into the renassiance and actually ended with some absolute crap music from the 90s. One was such was basically 30 minutes of a guy hitting glasses and plucking rubberbands.

The purpose being to educate on music, style, motivations and gain a general appreciation for music you might not otherwise be exposed to...

In celebration of Christmas and in anticipation of CK I went out yesterday and fought the crowds to get a CD of Gregorian chants.

Now I just have to get my page to clean my armor and wash my jupon and I'll be all set for CK.:)

Well, what interest me, will music again be in form of MP3.

Now problem I have in EU2 whit MP3 music is that when you turn it off, it actually is still going on in backgraund, taht is taking resurces from sistem
If you have low power (OLD) PC, this can be a problem, so I have to delete music from hard disk, that is, save it on CD, an play it in CD palyer.

So I hope music in CK will be save on CD, avi or some thing, and when you turn it off, it actuayl go off.

.................

Hmmm, I didn't know that. Well, let's hope that instead of just turning the volume down you can actually turn it off in CK so the HD is not accessed.:)

The music is to be moving, epic and medieval... yet cinematic and composed by a modern composer apparently...

AND

Paradox acquired rights to Conan character and are planning to make a film...

Perhaps my conclusions are too far reaching (they guy may just as well be dead already)... but it could be great if the music was composed by Basil Pouledaris :p

(But as I said, I am probably wrong :))

Wasn´t that the chap who did the music in Starship Troopers?

Philistine!!!

There well never be a greater peroid of western choral music then the 11th-13th centuries! How can anyone hope to capture the "idea" of the middle ages without the "Ideas" of the Middle ages.

I listen to chant, (and most other medieval musical styles) all the time. Most of my CDs are from groups like Sequentia, Sarband, Jordi Savall's group, Anonymous 4, and of course Santo Domingo de Silos Abbey Monks' Choir. it looks as if I'm just going to have to put on my headphones when I get the game.

Given the great selection of music from BIS in both EU2 and HOI, I was wondering what kind of music selection will be included in CK. Pre-13thc polyphonic period music is extremely obscure, and it seems to me that an acapella soundtrack would be inappropriate in a strategy game. Thoughts?

I thought they used Naxos... at least for HoI...

That's the problem with public education. You never know what kind of sick perverts will be teaching your children :D

I adore Gregorian Chanting and I'm not a sick per.....Oh ok, I am, I admit it. Happy ? :D

I personally expect it to be David Bowie's composition as he's shown an interest in games before so why not. I can imagine playing as Byzantium with "This Is Not America" lightly playing in the background.

original. by a composer who's done his share of game music, yes. to memory comes a certain canadian outfit that features some of his music ;) being involved means that he shares both Eastern and Western cultures and thus was able to emotionally give the Crusades a view from both sides, Muslims and Christians. it was one of those rare occassions where composer is as interested in working on the topic and on the game about it as the designers are interested in luring such a professional to work on it... lucky-lucky-lucky! :p

I'm not sure but is Paul Ruskay multi-cultural? He wouldn't be it, would he?
