I am VERY disappointed...

Although this music is not bad, still a good selection of REAL 1453-1789 music would be incomparably better...
I second that.
It had to happen some day, but I feel that almost everything "new" in the recent paradox-games feel more "mainstream blockbuster-games-ish", and not so unique as the "original" Paradox-games like EU2. I'm a bit sad, because I know that the instant joy I felt when I "found" paradox; the use of a 2D map, use of unit sprites, being very historical (by historical events) and realistic, using authentic music from the era, and so on, might never come back. I always felt it was more like a different way to learn history rather than being just a game. The wrapping (graphics, music, etc.) was kept simple, while the content (history, realistic limitations on player-influence over his/hers country's development) was the focal point of the whole experience.
Nowadays, most of the new stuff are being drawn in the direction of more "famous" strategy games. They will probably reach out to a bigger audience with this, but personally I'm sceptical about what the future will bring from paradox... This purpose-composed soundtrack (reminds me of Heroes of Might and Magic-music) is an example of just that: more attention to gameplay, less attention to historical feel/content. So also with the situational events instead of the historical events... I'm sorry to say that I really don't like this at all...
