I downloaded the Albion music DLC and was very happy with it. What was a pleasant surprise was that when going through the files it seems that the music files are set to play when the title character is Saxon or Norman. I was wondering what other modding capabilities are possible.

Because of CK1 I bought a lot of early music and was interested in putting it into CK2, I have some German and French popular music and music from Andalusia and Jerusalem. It would be awesome if the game would play Crusader music when my character goes on crusade or play a troubadour song about a wayward knight when my character gains the lustful trait.

Anyone have ideas of how much leeway we have in modding the music file?

I wonder how to get additional music to play as a mod at all. When I add tracks to the music folder in CK2's main folder and add them to the list in songs.txt there, they play just fine. When I make a mod out of my music, it gets completely ignored (while being checkable in the launcher). I'd like to take a look at the dlc music files, too, but unfortunately both music packs have disappeared from the ingame store for me. :(
