My personal favorite is always phostmus series(Elba-posthumus or Elba-pompei)their songs are great check them and you will be thankful...

Well, my hunt for public-domain era music continues. I'm focusing on orchestral marches, dances, symphonies and similar in true Victoria I fashion so the player wouldn't be bored to tears . If somebody would point to me such (public-domain) performances I'd appreciate it.

Regarding eastern music: I think jumping from Western music straight to Ottoman music would break immersion a little bit. On the other hand, it's not that hard to find eastern influenced western music for this era(check Strauss II's Persian and Egyptian Marches for example).

For the Ottoman musics I suggest you to listen Mehter songs the same songs Ottoman soldiers listen while they are going to war they are great too...

Also for the players who search good eastern type of music searh for Walley of the wolfs tracks on youtube they are from a Turkish mafia Tv-Serias but all of the song are played in Turkish and arabic rytms...

Well two things can be done at some time its hard but it can be....

so why not use it?
im thinking victoria is about the only game since arcanum i havent turned off the music and just played mp3s in the background, so departing from that would definetly be six steps back

I like the music from the trailer and I think Victoria 2 will be one of the games where I actually will hear the music Although at the end the music doesn´t fit to the Victoria 2 Rule by Iron Conquer through blood screen

Personally, I don't prefer the original music by Andreas to the classical masterpieces. But I understand that the music is a part of the product so it should offer its own original music. Although Andreas' score for HoI3 is not so good IMO, EU3's soundtrack is outstanding and judging from the song heard on Vicky 2 features video I expect an excellent job in V2 too.

I think that in case of V2 I will follow the same procedure as of EU3:

1. Listen to Andreas for some time until I get fed up with the music
2. Paste in the music from the prequel (EU2, V1) + some additional music from my home-made collection

Care to share some good sites for that? Prefaribly with lots of good quality orchestral performances... musopen.com and classiccat.net were the good ones I found but they don't have some scores I'm looking for.

You still need an orchester to record the music. Or use synthesiser, which Andreas most likely uses.
