Music for Vicky 2

Now, I'm sure Andreas Waldetoft will make a great score for V2(Is he the one working on this project btw?) and judging by the gameplay trailer music I'm not wrong. But for me, one of the greatest part of Vicky was the soundtrack and it has the best music in all Paradox games. No one can beat Mozart, Verdi, Strauss, Wagner, Tchaikovsky etc. after all.

So pardon me if this is a silly question but can we make a mod that brings backs the authentic period music and publish it? AFAIK authors' works from this period are in public domain but what about the recordings?

That would be nice but what about adding more music? This is a mod idea really. As long as the game engine allows for modding the soundtrack and I find some public domain performances(musopen.com is one) I'll be a happy camper.

As far as I am concerned, this is one case where only the original score will do. Vicky is quite probably the only computer game where I've actually had the sound on.

Will it be possible to have different music in different centuries, as in FTG? Or, even better since the time frame is much smaller, different decades? It would be fun to start with Wagner and end with Cole Porter!

Musics should be diffrent for the cultures for example it would be great to listen German songs while playing as Prussia or eastern type of music for Ottomans...

When I played Vic1 I ran Pandora in the background. When I played as a western country I switched the type of music to match the right style when I got the "[style] music" invention - at the beginning it was classical, then romantic, then add some Debussy (Impressionist Music), and finally, near the end of the game, Jazz.

As a non-western country I did my best to find a fitting traditional style from that country, and stuck with it throughout the game.

Oh, for sure I agree, I'm just saying that's what I ended up doing for the game. I'd much prefer not to have to alt+tab every time pandora times out.

I may get flamed for saying this, but I hated that music.

It sounded like something intended for my great grandfather. Just because the game is set in the Victorian era that doesn't mean the music has to be as boring as that. I would rather like EU 3 style music or something instead.

It helps with immersion. Besides, most people disagree with you on that statement, i'd think

Interesting music has bad habit turning into annoying music when you listen to it too often.

But I turn music off in every game I have and 90% of the time play without any sound. Just playing isn't demanding anymore and I also need some movie to really feel entertained

Sometimes I dont listen game music too but with no sound noo that would be boring for my opinion...
