No, this is not just a visual bug, check the dates. I wanted Muscovy to colonize for me since ain't nobody got time fo' that? I gave them a few thousands ducats as well as monthly money and then they suddenly did that.

I've seen it with subsidized native councils too. If you watch carefully the growth rate ticks up rapidly per month. I'm still haven't pinned down the precise conditions 100% though. At first I thought it was related to the bug with stacking CN modifiers that got patched, but it's something different.

That result is theoretically possible if they got a couple of the positive colonization events in short order as well as a "hit" on the colonization roll (200+200+25+2 in 2 months) although that is an extremely unlikely occurrence. I've never paid enough attention to see if the colony growth rate displayed takes those events into account or not but considering how some other items get displayed it's entirely possible.

Can't you mouse over the crazy growth numbers to see where it's coming from?

From colonial maintenance. Seriously.

I've never paid enough attention to see if the colony growth rate displayed takes those events into account or not but considering how some other items get displayed it's entirely possible.

No, the growth is over 3000 yearly in that screen shot. No combination of WAD factors will result in an average colony completion speed of 4 months ish.

What I'm saying is that when you get one of the +x colonial growth events it could cause the growth display to bug out and show those sorts of numbers just like your income mouseover display includes income from 1 time events that happened the previous month. Since those are all MTTH events rather than pulse events it is entirely possible, albeit incredibly unlikely, that a couple could fire in short order and result in that sort of growth spurt.

This is not a display bug. That growth actually happens. You could stack 4 MTTH events on top of each other and double up and you're still not at 3000 base yearly growth rate lol.

Besides, the displayed value doesn't factor events adding colony pop at all, those just add the population. I doubt the OP would neglect to mention them if they mattered, and I know for a fact that this bug is real since I've seen enormous growth rates on native council colonies in 1500 while subsidizing them.

Fixed in code now so it should be in next patch. Basically, there were no bounds checks in gameplay code against other code (e.g. AI) setting some crazy value for colonial maintenance.
