I tried a few games to reach East Siberian Coastline but I always seem to somehow ending a few province short by January 1st, 1600. Like one more year required to finish off the colonies in that region.

My strategy is to pretty much consolidate my base in East Europe and completely ignore the horde tribes except if there is an opening to take land in Uzbek. I might take that and give perm some land to core and integrate perm to reach further east slightly faster.

I also will tank my diplomatic tech if necessary. I know you can start many at once.

I don't think expansion/exploration is required at least with Russia NI frontier.

Anything else should I know?

It's a campaign that spans over 156 years. If you're only a few provinces short that's way inside the margin of RNG and your base idea is at least solid.

Haven't done it yet, but it should be a pretty standard expansion-opening, only a little modified after the first 30 years.

Take only provinces worth more than half a dime from Nov, take out Ryazan and GH then dive into Nogai while eating Gazi. Tentacle through Uzbek in a single war and you're done. Russian frontier will do the rest.

If Oirat isn't a tributary by that point you can eat them too. And Buryata if you want to. The closer you can get with warfare the better. Iirc that stuff is hidden in terra incognita for a pretty long time.

Kazan can be taken when you're bored and have a few resources to spare.

I'm attempting it right now...

I started by gobbling Novgorod because it gave me that mission, but feeding all but my core and the trade provinces to vassals. Then I ate most of Kazan to get access to Uzbek and to take the gold mine and trade center, again feeding the rest to vassals. With that, I have a stable income and access to the east.

So it's 1452 and I can attack the Great Horde to get access to his ally Uzbek, while also nudging south since I intend to consecrate Rome this game as well.

Early on you pretty much require mercs to chain wars, and you need a heavy income to afford mercs, so I think locking down the centers of trade and that gold mine are key to the fastest possible expansion. Plus with so little AE in that part of the world, income really looks like my biggest obstacle.

The trickiest part is how much incognita you have to deal with. Wars are a pain, and it's impossible to know just how much of a mess is waiting over in Ming-land. :)

Make sure you fire decision for Russia, it gives you a ton more states allowing you to snake along siberian north. I literally just took provinces for furthering the path to the pacific coast. Don't colonize till the end, save the money up and then when you finally make it to the coastline, send your 1 colonist out to start up every single colony, you can recall 1 colonist and have it setup multiple colonies, the drawback is that each colony over your colonist limit costs exponentially more but if you are saved up in money you are fine. Don't get distracted with other conquests. Just make your drive for the Novgorod land to form Russia and then push east. Before you fire Russia Decision, use the ledger to sort your states by development and have your best states as yours and then hand everything else off to as few vassals as you have to as you push east. Keep in mind you can't fabricate through vassals so don't make Perm/vassallize them asap.

Yup I always take novgorod first since that is a huge growth. In fact if you do the first land grab fast enough you can start abuse great powers abilities from there.

If you do get exploration ideas (or expansion ideas - basically just a colonist), it makes the colonizing of the Kamchatka peninsula far easier. I failed twice by just a few years, then I chose one of these idea groups and easily got it. It might not be the most efficient way of doing it, but you aren't really playing to maximize your nation anyway if you are going for that achievement.

Attack Ryazan and Novgorod, take religious, become tributary and conquer your way there. It can be done pre 1500, 1600 gives you a lot of down time and ease in strategies

Yeah I am started a different run. I am indeed very very lucky. I manage to snatch a Sweden PU from British. The painful part was waiting for warscore to tick up to 60% *sad face*. The funny part was as soon Sweden sign independence from Denamrk. The king died without a heir. It was between me and British.

Worthwhile to get a strong subject. PLC just formed and I have no choice but to sign an alliance with Ottoman to keep them trapped.

HRE is even worse off. >> Austria fall under Hungary and has been like that ever since. Like zero protection and PLC is gobbling up provinces.

France is in worse shape heh. England manage to grab more land past Normandy and had brittany as march for a bit. Not sure if they are still a subject or integrated.

Generally wacky stuff.

Just barely in time lol. You can tell I didn't finish colonizing just seized land and pop up a few siberian frontier and done.

Yes I completely ignored ryazan and let them have some fun by choice. It means I don't have to deal with hordes as much.

As an aside. I was extremely lucky with Siberian gold mines. I got 4 from colonizing and a 5th from Kazan. Which put me at 5 total gold mine. Half way to 10. There is an easy one to demand from Korchin. There is one in kosova under Ottoman sovereignty. That put me at 7 if I take both. Is there any other easy to take gold mines?

Hmm looks like japan got two, I know there is one event but for two?! I might go japan as well. We will see.

Is there any gold close by to where Bukhara is? That will let me finish one more achievement.

Gujarat and Golconda are goldmines as well. India. Usually owned by Mewar and Bahmanis, neither of which becomes a tributary to Ming.

You should not colonize any unnecessary provinces. Ignore the central Siberia areas. Conquer along the northern nations till you get to the region where the flag for the achievement is and then start all the colonies all at once. The money you saved holding off on colonizing unnecessary land earlier will come in handy there, plus it allows you to snowball east faster. Don't get greedy with land, just take provinces that get you further east. This is not one of those achievements you want to do multi cheevos on cause rapid eastern expanse sucks as russia. You end up alot weaker cause you wasted alot on low development areas and end up with Europe on one side and Ming on the other. Best to just get this cheevo and move on.

You should not colonize any unnecessary provinces. Ignore the central Siberia areas. Conquer along the northern nations till you get to the region where the flag for the achievement is and then start all the colonies all at once. The money you saved holding off on colonizing unnecessary land earlier will come in handy there, plus it allows you to snowball east faster..
ugh... uhm.... you dont spent any ducat to colonize siberia when you are russia... it only costs some diplo point and its done by itself without any single ducat.
also as you can see he allready get achivement... wich means you didnt just say someting nonsense also you suggested this to someone allready claimed achivement :/

I mean... yea ...

I did this without either idea group exploration/expansion. My idea group is economic (help immense with wage war or pulling out of debt spiral), defensive, trade (incompleted) and innovate (cheaper tech and late institution spawner). I might pick up offensive and quality and few other idea depending on how the hunt for gold mine goes.

Since Third Rome patch, Russia get 20 diplomat MP, one time fee, for every single provinces in Siberia. It cost nothing to upkeep them. I am a bit behind on diplomat MP generate at some point but I never ran completely out of diplomat MP. One thing to notice although if you take too long to form Russia then you will definitely have to take some land to speed up the pace.

In this game I formed Russia at about 1530 timeframe. I could do it much quicker if I took Ryzan's capital but that means pissing them off and won't be a reliable allies. So I had to push really hard to snatch the other province from PLC but aside from that. I had no real problem.

So you can technically just roll through Siberia and even put up 12 colonies up at once and sit back. Laugh at Ming as their tributaries get more powerful over time due to institution spread.

They cost 20 diplo points... no upkeep... I think that is affordable ;-) however, since there is a random chance for 100 ppl and growth... colonizing ALL provinces possible the chance is increased to be able to jump on to next...

But please tell me more of the money I don´t have to spend, since it´s the "siberian frontier" idea with Russia :)

Is there any gold close by to where Bukhara is? That will let me finish one more achievement.

Probably the easiest way would just be to explore to Mexico and grab all of theirs in a few easy wars.
As Tweakee say... You could get lucky to get gold in Russian colonisable land... or conquer austria ;-)
