I am more than serious. Quantity is the worst choice for Muscovy because existing bonuses are huge. How can 150k can be spent early game? Why would I want more manpower than I can spend in any war? Quality of troops is always an issue with early game Ottomans or mid-game Austrians or French. It makes sense if you love sieging with 15k infantry stack on Finnmark which I don't do.

Manpower of this quantity changes the game. For instance now you have to fight rebels. This will tick your manpower down while at peace. If you take quantity then you can drop LA at will and just eat the rebels in your giant manpower pool.

I've seen manpower pools of 150k die regularly enough in this game.

I never spend precious diplo on culture conversion. Missionary decisions which (+1% st/ -1 tolerance of heretics (Convecticle and Blasphemy acts) and +1 missionary strength (Act of uniformity) and +1 str/ + 1 RR (Advancement of religion act) + 2% from patriarch authority, inquisitor (occasionally; another +2%) and free stab from level 3 advisors (+0.5% for each) allow conversion of all steppe lands, which are relatively low tax. I converted all Middle East (including Mecca, which required a cathedral) this way.

P.S. Also Sunday schools late game (+1%).

Hordes MUST be culture converted, not just because of a bunch of non-accepted cultures but also to follow what Russia did in the real history! Go kick out a bunch of horsemen from a steppe, found a handful of cities, develop local aggriculture and bring civilization to these lands. I don't see any other way to play as Russia, lel.
And here comes the nationalist

Though quantity is cute for the MP reduction for buildings, I still wouldn't get it as Russia. Administrative + mercenary infantry should be more than enough to handle any rebels the game can throw at you, even in 1.8.
I'd rather buff up the individual troops since Russia has no problems throwing bodies at problems, anyway.

Do as you wish. You might be surprised to see how many Tatars and Bashkirs are there in Russia. I prefer galley fleet victories which are more historical than culture conversions.

I can not imagine this. As simple as that. I fight rebels only in my vassals lands when they have major OE/ wrong religion problems.
That's quality vs quantity. I prefer quality, Muscovy needs it badly. Much more than any other major power in the world.

As much as I'd like to counter everything you wrote in the quote, I'd rather refrain from doing so, since it'll simply incite yet another nationalist discussion. So all I'll say is: You're horribly wrong.

I couldn't resist to say at least this much. ._.

You do have to consider the possibility that he wasn't serious, or that he just like doing nasty things in-game. I am an evil player also, doing stuff like making all of Africa 1 culture even when all sub-Saharans were 1 culture group lol.

We all like doing nasty things in-game, but in his case about 2 days ago he started a topic whining about Russia where he had a ton of these nationalistic replies ("Russia the Civilizer of Horde Worlds").

Muscovy is fine. I integrated my Muscovite vassal in my Theodoro game yesterday and it nearly tripled my manpower pool (went from 138k to 370k) as well as made my income skyrocket. My income was already good but integrating Muscovy was the difference between one level 3 and two level 2 advisors and all level 3 advisors and still making a 50 ducat profit, while having a full army fielded. Seriously, base Russian land is good still, and you still have a ton of provinces to colonize. Sure their tax and manpower will be garbage, but the production income from them is still good, especially with the new mechanics for it.

YES! THANK YOU PARADOX! Hopefully this means that Muscovy forming Russia and accomplishing all of its historical conquests is no longer a givent constant, but actually a variable.
Not.
Now Muscovy get eated from every neighbour it's a givent constant.
In every-single-game i've played with 1.8 (6 games with many different nations)
There's a similar problem: Rome is ALWAYS converted to protestant/reformed, always.
These are balancing issues bro.

If I took his statement seriously, it would be a heavy insult to his intelligence and I wouldn't want to do that. I'd rather assume he was kidding as that seems more sensible and it's better to give people the benefit of the doubt.

Speaking in abstract terms that is right. Muscovy's ideas fall back too much these days after recent buffs to other major powers (the most laughable is GB with its accepted culture threshold).

"Trashcovy" is a sort of insult to your intelligence but you still use it every time. Should a benefit of doubt be given in this case?
