for teh sequel to truly be a great success, the multi player layout has to be totally reworked. i bought the original with the intent to dominate other human beings in 16th-18th century Europe, not some computer chip. paradox need sto fix the multi player so taht it woudl be easier to meet other mp players, and get a game actually going... kind of like what microsoft does with the zone, or blizzard does for diablo and warcraft...

YEah, I would love to play with others, and join in and leave existing gmaes... Perhaps on this server they could have games running completely AI controlled...and players could enter and play as any nation not currently played by another human.

Our LAN games have been facinating. I've read some reports of people munching all the minors and then turning on each other. Our games were a bit different. We had a Polish and Ottoman player who tried that and after initial successes were just kept in constant wars by other players. We just ensured that they never had a break between wars so that war-weariness kicked in. We broke up Poland without ever winning a war against it, rebels broke it into a couple of countries, and we broke the power of the Ottomans after giving 1500D to Georgia after he tried to add it to his empire. The swearing and shouting from the corner was fantastic, he had no idea what was going on. He never really recovered and the Ottomans reached the limits of expansion by 1620, well short of the 1556 tide mark. It only takes two of you to pick on aggressors and you can do significant damage to anyone on a power building mission.

Its a real shame that it doesn't work on 56K. Its ok if you are American but for Brits, thats £40 a month. I've found it cheaper to hire out internet places for a day.

Actually it would be really simple for the EU team to add a Multiplayer Chat Room on this webserver (www.europa-universalis.com). Then people could log on there negotiate a game and start. Very simple and would take max 4h to code. Just reuse a free Java based chatroom already out there.....

Then for EUII it would be nice if it were hosted on ZONE.

Thanks

This sounds like a fun experience. I can just imagine it now:

Ottoman Player: "OK you turds! Which one of you keeps transferring money over to Georgia? I have been fighting them for 12 years and with 90k armies and they still keep resisting. This is REALLY pissing me off!"

LMAO

I agree that we really need strong multiplayer features. Real human enemies are way better than those dimwit AI nations (they are too easy to beat)
