Multiplayer no longer seems to work since patch 3.4.4

Me and my friend have tried 4 different multiplayer games now, every time we come to resume the session the next day, the game desyncs at the start of the next month with the COUNTRY_RESOURCES desync error.

We both love stellaris multiplayer, but this seems to have left it unplayable for us at the moment.

If anyone knows of any causes of this issue or any fixes, they will be greatly appreciated

This is a known bug a lot of people has this issue, both with 3.4.3 saves and with 3.4.4 ones.
I recommend sticking to 3.4.3 for now until this is fixed.

But does the desync actually do anything? In my recent mp game we just continued playing without noticing further problems.
In our game today, the same thing happened. We continued without issue. However, rolling back to 3.4.3 will solve this for now. We are hoping to be able to address this next week.

Out of curiosity; how do you know if a desync affects the game or not? If you continue the game after the desync, don't you run the risk of unwittingly playing two different games?
Would it be possible to implement a resync feature in the future, akin to Total War: ROME II?
