Multiplayer - "Host has a different version of the game"

I know that this has been posted before, but I honestly can't find a solution to the issue that has fixed my problem. My friends and I are trying to play in multiplayer, and while all of them are able to join the game, I seem to be having an issue with joining. We have checked multiple times to make sure that we all have the exact same version [Kennedy v1.4.1 (1759)], but I'm still having no luck. To try and fix this issue, I have:

1) Restarted Steam
2) Removed all mods (they play the game without mods)
3) Uninstalled, and then reinstalled Stellaris
4) Uninstalled, removed all local files, and then reinstalled Stellaris

After each of these actions, I've tried going into multiplayer. When I try to join my friend's game, I get the error message. When I try to scan for other games, it says "Found no matching servers". When I uncheck "same version", it's populated with games that say that they're the same version as mine, but I can't join.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix this?

The version that is displayed on the main menu is bugged. Clearly you don't have the exact same version.

You have modified files somewhere. Try to check the integrity of the files on steam (right click properties on the game name on steam and search the option). Also check twice that you don't have ANY mods (name mods change checksum).

In any case, you should link your steam account to the paradox account to have access to the tech support forum, where you could have a better helping

Sorry, I forgot to include in my original post: I've checked the integrity of my files in steam twice (after both reinstallations). And I'm certain about the mods. I had one for additional flag colors, but I removed it and unsubscribed from it in the workshop.

Thanks for the advice on connecting my steam account. I'll do that, and then see if I can't find anything in the tech support forums.
