Hi,
Sorry if this has been posted and I missed it but have they resolved the constant desync in multiplayer? I didn't see anything specific on the last update release notes but haven't played in a while. I don't want to waste another session with friends if it's a headache to play in the mid game.

its much worse than before, wsc had a couple of 20+ player games going on over the weekend and most of them ran into major desync/crash/game abort issues at the 30-40 year mark

..pretty sad people were so hyped (including myself)

the worst part is that the early game is now much much slower which means pugging games is now also much harder

I can confirm this happens with game breaking results: Some players start 'losing functionality' (trades can't be accepted, or fleets can't be merged, or ships don't even move/respond to orders etc.)

Going through the arduous task of restarting the game and re-loading everyone one-by-one in their hotseats, the game catastrophically desynced again an hour or two later. We decided to call it quits.

We played for 6 hours in total and did not even reach mid-game (which i had already reduced to 75 year interval).

I believe playing at Normal speed 'might' reduce the risk of desync, but no one has that kind of time when you're trying to organize massive multiplayer games.

Please let us know you're looking into this :)

has been a problem since apocalypse launch, went slightly better over the last couple of months and went far worse with 2.2, multiplayer is almost unplayable, especially when combined with the new slower overall pacing of the game

i highly doubt the situation will get any better in next month(s)

I have desyncs every few months from the very beginning of the game on normal speed. It usually happens when event pops up but not always. Me and my friend have decent rigs so I don't think that's the issue and as far as I know firewalls shouldn't block it. Patch 2.2 is my first attempt to Stellaris multiplayer so I can't tell if that's the case.
Also played EU4 today to test it out and everything was fine. It doesn't matter who is hosting the game, desync will happen after couple of minutes. Maybe something is wrong on my because yesterday my friend played entire game with another friend without issues.

Yes, there is horrible desync and crashes in the end game. It's gotten worse and worse with every update and paradox doesn't seem to give much of a shit about the people who play multiplayer to address the issues.

Generally seems to happen to my brother and I revolving around pop issues. When a species gets modified, or a war ends and we just acquired a new species, or opening a planet. It’s always a pop_modifier desync.

In my case after patch 2.2 in 60% games within a few first years my timer stops completely for everyone but i can do everything in the game, so it is not a freeze. Nothing can be done except host kicking me out. And then i dont see that i'm kicked, but it shows that I'm desynced.

20+ player games is a thing? Stellaris has a pretty good then. I haven't played Multi in stellaris yet but if CK2 is anything to go by the best you can hope for is 2-3 players at normal speed. Any attempt to speed up is what causes de-sync in CK2.

How is Stellaris at normal speeds with just 2-3 people?
