Multiplayer cheese (crashes and rudeness)

So anyway though I'd give multiplayer a shot. You know after hearing all those wonderful things about it.

Well, that blows and sucks big time. All told had one good match.

Not mentioning names however other matches the language was either so foul and obnoxious and people so rude, aggressive, and scary to tell you the truth, or you get kicked right out 'for your evil deeds' after joining.
Mind you these are open matches. If you don't want other people joining then put a password on the match. It is that simple. No need to kick people.

Not to mention that everytime you leave the game crashes and you have to start up EUIV all over again. What's that all about.

All I can say is a lousy and frustrating experience, and not a good selling point for the game. Red Bull YouTube generation get some manners.

You only crash when you're loading a save. Not an excuse, though.

I do agree with most of your points. Open games are terrible in terms of manners and general decency - Some of the time.

If you really want to experience EU4 MP at it's finest, (which isn't very fine at all..) then your best bet is to sign up for a game in the MP forum.

The only reason I play MP is that it's, in my opinion, usually an incredibly better experience when compared to SP, like ACTUALLY being able to do diplomacy, instead of constantly monitoring your AE and relations with every nation to avoid a coalition of thirty states.

But as you've clearly experienced, it does have it's drawbacks...

TBH I've played some MP and it ... I guess depends on the luck ? I've never seen anyone kicking for no reason or being rude ...

I've seen some players being dicks to others gameplay wise but those we're quickly weeded out (you can't be Austria in a game where 7 of the players are HRE minors and demand unlawful land, start coalitions against others and etc. and expect the players NOT to gang on you )

EUIV multiplayer is best experienced when it's planned ahead and (in my experience) has at least some basic house rules that everyone agrees on.
That's not to say that you can never have a pleasant time with Open games but well you made the thread so you know

This was before the game even started, and I hadn't said anything or just said hi. Maybe it is the loading of the save crashing that is causing the kick? I dunno know.
Maybe because I'm new in multiplayer. Play some other multiplayer games now and then and when there is a new person always a bit weary if there not going all cheese.

I haven't been able to get MP games going while using a password in the beta patch or 1.8.1 due to "game not found", so we've been putting "private" in the description and just kicking people. Others might be doing the same type of thing, but it will always tell you "evil deeds".

I had the same issue before the beta patch, we experimented a while and for me, the fix was to select join, then manually enter the correct game ID (the one in the popup was wrong for some reason) and pw and then it worked. good luck, that multiplayer interface is worse than diablo2's.
