I imagine this is a dead subject, but I just 'found' this game and am really looking forward to the chance to play.

Has there been any thought to adding a psuedo-turn based option to the game? Say, give orders once a month or so?

I have little doubt that the AI will be relatively easy to beat after some period of time, and playing against human opponents is always the more exciting challenge. But the RT nature of the game could make that problematic for many people.

If you could have some kind of turn based format, then you could set up some form of PBEM type system to get a big game going and kept going for a long time.

Well, you could always press pause once a month and decline from issuing orders at any other time then during the paused game.
This psuedo-turn based gameplay is available right out of the box ;-)

Only the Host can pause a Multiplayergame, so its possible to make a Turn based style of EU-playing, but its more exciting and more fun to play with 1 minute/ 1 month (you will have plenty of time left, since there aren´t always wars going on)

In our longterm multiplayer game 1min/1month was the best choice.
With 1 min/ 2 month wars with several opponents began to be very difficult to manage.

Vad menar han när han intygar att ha 'funnit' spelet? Är han en Warez-skojare?

Sorry, I think my point has been lost somewhere.

I am not questioning the time ratio, I am asking about making the game possible to PBEM.

I have no doubt that online play will be a lot of fun, but I am guessing that most people cannot arrange to have four of their friends be online at the same time consistently.

A turn-based option (orders ever two weeks or every month) would allow a long term PBEM campaign.

I'm afraid that the choice has been made and will be irrevocable.

*** real time ***

I would love to play EU on a turn base. But EU is simultaneous real time. I don't think it will ever been turn based ... As a good comparison, Matrix's 'the wars of napoleon would have been turn based'. But yes, 'would have ...' : the game has been cancelled.

However, EU PC is good enough and the gameplay is very good. I recommend 1M=1m ... and play with patient guys, they wont mind if you pause the game (it's possible even online).

Regards.
