Someone mentioned doing this on Ariel's thread and I thought it would be a really good idea and great fun, having the same story told from 8 different perpectives and with 8 contrasting styles.

At this stage I want to guage interest really, rules and countries can be decided upon later. I would really like Sean9898, Ariel and BiB to play because their AARs are simply outstanding, but if anyone else is interested please feel free :)

I am too. What kind of time and frequency did you have in mind? Having too much work and a demanding family timing would be critical for my part.

Would 3-5hrs each weekend be enough, or am I out?

Oke what we will need

To have this game will we need:

[*]8 commited people who can play at the weekend and can write there part of the AAR fairly soon after (i.e. before the next game)
[*]They must have the same EU/IGC versions (I am currently running 1.08/1.09c although I think we should play with the lastest version available at the time)
[*]Someone with a Lan/T1/Cable connection to host, I would host but I doubt my 33.6k running through AOL will cut it

If we can get 8 people thne we can start discusing rules, times, countries etc.

I think this will be great fun if we can pull it off :)

Count me in

Definately up for it. Although like Hortlund, work & family are a consideration.
I'm also assuming it would be either UK or European times ?

Cheers
Tony

Cockney - I am deeply flattered that you'd like me to join a multiplayer AAR but I'm very sorry, I'm afraid I simply don't have enough time. I'm in the midst of setting up a massive web project at work and so I'm not getting home until about 8 most evenings, at which point I tend to eat, watch some telly, grab an hour's EU at the most and then collapse... Weekends aren't much better - my lovely lady wife works long hours too and so we tend to keep busy on Sat and Sun with shopping, pub, watching telly, pub, coupley-stuff, pub... I admit I get a few hours on Sunday, but I think if I stopped the game I'm on before the AAR was finished I'd be lynched... plus my modem is dodgy at the best of times, so all in all I'm afraid I'll have to reluctantly bow out at this stage. Ask me again in six months though, I might have some free time at some point this year, you never know... :)

i think a multiplayer aar would be cool but 4 countries would be enough, if there is 8 then some of them would be to similar

I never played an MP game though and I think I'd be grossly unsuited, despite having a cable modem, as I tend to play, well, quite weirdly. I pause all the time, run around the house, do other stuff, ALT-TAB in and out, take notes and more things like that. I don't think I'm able, even in the slightest, to play a game that I can't pause/adjust speed :D Xure, it'd be a nice change from that AI to play able humans but I fear the gaming experience, and consequently the AAR, would be greatly endangered because of my playing style. I'd feel like I was in a clickfest :D

I would definitely be interested. I have been toying with Several AARs' But have never finished one yet. I had a really good one with Bohemia. Quite a challenge, but I managed to become quite powerful. But I had too much written down.

I also have never played online and I am curious as to how exactly it works. I have some time off. (Almost 4 months, yes!!!!!!!) So I will be able to keep up frequently.

Well Yes. Most college students here get 3 months and 3 weeks. I am taking summer classes, but it's not like they are challenging.

I would like to go to Europe. But I'm afriad it won't happen till ater my college days. Planning something maybe in the summer of 2004. Maybe Scotland. Very beautiful country.

I think it is. But as far as running smoothley we will have to see. The host would most preferably have a cable modem or some kind of T3 line.

The others connectoin is most times not as important as the host connection. And we need the Ip address I do believe.
