One thing I've not seen much of in many other city building games is something that I see everyday, certainly in Europe
Buildings that have shops on the ground floor and apartments or offices on the floors above Which, in simcity terms, gives duel residential/commercial properties.
Also in that picture is the triangular building shaped to fit the old rambling street layout of older cities.
And speaking of older cities
Streets not big enough for cars for that Claustrophobic feel
Or indeed streets that are a bit wider where one side is for driving and the other for parking (so essentially one way).
