ETA: I installed EUIV, that seems to have done the trick for me.
My computer crashed a few weeks ago, and initially i did a factory reset before sending it in to get repaired. So there might have been some file that comes with the EUIV install when you install it the first time, that is not included in the CKII install.
Hi, I just bought Crusader Kings 2 (through Steam) and the game does not start. When I try to run CK2game.exe I receive an error message of "Unable to locate component: This application has failed to start because MSVCP100.dll was not found. Re-installing this application may fix the problem." - It doesn't. I have also followed all of the other steps... VCRedist, DirectX setup, .Net etc. none of that has helped and the game still will not run (same problem). What else can I do? I just spent 40$ on this game and I would really like it if that was not a complete waste. How can I fix this?
- furthermore, manually getting the file MSVCP100.dll and placing it in system 32 and SysWOW64 or in the game's directory is no help either...
I tried looking elsewhere online and a number of other people seem to have had the same problem is there no other solution?
When I try to run it though steam I just get a pop-up saying that the programme stopped working. - and yes, I googled it and found a lot of posts on forums but always the same advice. - none of it has worked for me..
