Yeah I did, but taking out AI France in '39 is just not difficult enough to let them live to die another day. In WW1 Mod however, I consider it a valid strategy to conduct some kind of Anti-Schlieffen-Plan.
But in a WW1 situation, that probably is the best tactic, since there is no pact in the first place and so long as you leave belgium alone there's only a small front to hold against France. to top it off, the Russian army is very underequipped during WW1, I haven't played the mod in a while but I guess that's represented.
In WW2, France IMO is just not strong enough to leave them sitting, you can really use their resources and IC to your advantage in the long run.
