Hi all

Sorry if this has been asked before. :(

Will HoI2 use a new kind of MP-system than HoI and EU2?

I hope so, because I can't join games. Its something wiht my router, but dont know how to fix it. I knwo there are a huge thread about it on HOI forum, but still cant figure it out.

Really hope they use a new system, because I want to play MP. :D

Hello

I'm sorry to say that it will quite probably use the same v-net as the previous P'dox games used...

Maybe I can help you with your router thingie... I had the same problem back when I first tried to play EUII, but was able to solve it...

What kind of router are you using? Brand?(Zyxel etc.) and modell please, if you know the firmware version too... and if you know this, did you already tried to upgrade it to the newest one? When I did this, it worked for me finally(Zyxel 650-H-I I got)

Have you fixed your PC's internal IP-Adress(to say, 192.168.1.100) and forwarded the range of Ports to it(for me, SUA only did the trick)

The Ports are 2300 until 2400, I hope your router does support a range, so you don't have to do it for every port...

Do you have broadband interne (cable or dsl, etc..)? Look at the device plugged in in between your PC and your cable/dsl modem, this device is your router.

I have ADSL. Can it be true that's called "Sonicwall". If not I dont have a router.. :)

But if I dont have a router what is the problem then. it says it didn't found the IP-adress or there where something wrong with the connection.

Yes the sonicwall is your router/firewall. This device filters certian ports from having access to your network. HoI uses some of those ports. To resolve the issue you need to configure your Sonicwall to allow those ports through (open up the ports). Several different models do this seperately. It should have a web interface. If you go to the IP address of the sonicwall there should be a section to open up ports (I would check the sonicwall website for help doing this). You can go to a command prompt if your using WinNT/2000/Xp and type " ipconfig /all " and you will see an IP address for gateway (ex 192.168.1.100) and this is the IP address of your router.

Alright. Have been on the website, so I think I'm on the way. :)

But I dont know where to type the new ports.. There are many options and I will not destroy anything.

Is it here where it says: Network Gateway Subnet Mask

I would look for a section about mapping/port mapping/port filtering it should be something like that. the Sonicwall website should tell you how ot do it as well.
