Hey,

Untill recently I have been playing EU2 on the net with my friend. but until today, we get the message (for some weird reason) that we cannot find the IP we entered (which normally would have worked).
I may be a bit vague, but it's because this problem is very vague.
but if anyone has heard of this weird problem before, what can I do about it?

Thanks in advance :)

If I understand correctly you don't use valkirie-net to host/join the game. You use "Internet" play where you enter the IP adress of your friend. If that's the case then you need to do this :

There is 2 blank space where you enter the IP adress. You need to delete them, then enter the IP.

If the host is using a router then he should disconnect (and connect his pc directly with the internet service cable) or configure the router’s firewall...

In case the host is not using a router then u could be using it (it happened to me) you should do the same thing...

Well, the obvious answer is that the IP has changed :) Does the host have a dynamic IP?

The host should check his IP at for example www.whatismyip.com

Well... it is not that. We always check our IP's regulary, and with this case there is no exception. we both have static IPs.

we both tried reinstalling the game, vanilla and with the lastest patches. but still no luck! :(

Well, then it is either
a) Router/firewall settings for either of you have changed
b) the ISP is blocking necessary ports (for example, are you using a company or University network?)

Hey,

It seems everything works fine again. let me explain what happened.
A few months ago I was behind my father's router, it stopped everything coming in from like eu2 and zone.com plus my downloads and uploads were not fully using our bandwidth, I decided to change that.
I asked some people of that company my father works with to put me in the DMZ (outside the router's protection), it worked f*ckng amazing since the start, and my protection has been just as good.
only somehow, suddenly, I have been put back in in the Router's network, so, I have been stuck behind a router I did not know off since sunday.
but I am already outside of it again.

so, it was as everyone suggested, a firewall or router but I didn't know off :p

anyways, Thanks alot for your help! in the end it was usefull, because I was curious and started checking...
sorry for me being dumb! :D

Greetz,
Legionary

ok.... being in the DMZ zone can (read --> is) be dangerous. I hope you're using a firewall at least?
