Fuck. I don't even know most of(i mean, played with) the people you quote not to mention the people posting here. I must be really senile. I swear, one day i will get back a comp and internet connection. Maybe even before EU III comes out

Note - this is third thread of this kind i remember.

Although...

Best Warrior: Good old Damocles, closely followed by HolisticGod, Prinz Eugen and RedPhoenix.

I would agree with that. Those three (not counting Holistic God - or Temujin who gets mentioned often - with whose i did not play) were the best.

Diplomats, completly different topic. Diplomacy is much more hard to judge. But BiB was good - he knew capabilities of his country very good, and was good negotiator. Which may be the reasons i can't judge his war skills.

Mowers too (especally in creating coalitions against me :p). And the best GM ever, obviously.

Red Phoenix was good - how one can convince everyone to ally with him (France 1492) is beyond my reasoning. Not good, since he was also good commander ;).

Anyway, as i said, diplomacy is hard to judge. As Mulli said, some of the most effective diplomatic actions are never noticed.

Mulliman said:
A part of the diplomacy is also during wars, though its pretty short-term. Like telling your enemy how much he sucks and inform him that he is loosing. I would think Damo is pretty good at that.
Ah well. The part of the game where almost everyone loses his tempers, peace negotiations and very long wars. My favourite :D

Wyvern said:
It really is harder and harder these days to say who is best in any particular field. Damocles was a great warlord but lacked in diplomacy, but these days I think there are lots of players up to his standards and even in the old days players like RedPhoenix were just as good.
Yes, thats my impression from reading some AARs. Either Damocles warskills decreased or there are many more good players. I suppose the second answer is true. I think i saw the beginning of it, with Tsunami, when players like Archduke appeared. On a side note, Wyvern, when did you start playing MP? Which game was it?

Count Drew said:
Precisely, now adays the rest of the crew has come up to Par. I would like to see these old Guns face the New Ones, if they've lost their edge too? I'll betcha that the old Guns aren't as fast. Wild Bills being replaced by Billy the Kids :p
I think maybe i'll just keep staying away from EU 2 MP then... :D

Ah, and i have a question. Who is the most aggresive player?

Nevermind, i've found the other
thread . Or was it some time before Tsunami? MGCs?
Well in that thread I didn't actually say when I started and just listed the major campaigns I'd played.

I actually started in MP subbing in a couple of Mowers early MGC games but they were just brief stints. I was then England to Peter E's Spain in the nameless game he mentions. After that it is pretty much as I say in that thread. So I've been around a while but Tsunami was my first completed MP GC.

Who have you played in MGCs 2, 3 or 4?

Well, so, do you win the category "the oldest MP player still active"? ;)

I think it was MGC3 that I subbed as Russia. Ulver was England is all I remember really as he kind of left an impression... I also had a briefer one session stint as Austria in one of his games but I forget which.

I doubt I'm the oldest player around, Prince E probably can claim that honour and I'm sure there are others as well.

Ah yes, Prince Eugene. The oldest and youngest at the same time. Well, Damocles (if he still plays) got around to playing at the time of MGC 3. Dunno if Laxen still plays.

But man, Ulver wasn't England in MGC 3... England was total mess played by some newbie who built conscription center instead of COT and wanted to get land based military going. Ulver was uber-powerful Spain, the one with 10'000 ducats monthly income and manufactories in every province or something like that. I remember that for most of the time i played (1580-1710), Jonicro was Russia.
