anyone interested in startin a mp game playin 1 or 2 nights a week?

ideally id be happy with just me and 1 other person in a ger vs russia game but i would also be ok with 3 or 4 players. the reason being that in the past ive found games with large numbers of players never get finished due to players droppin out, slow speeds and problems arrangin sessions.

im in the UK so european players only

I'm quite interested in a TRP MP game, but as Germany, it is suicide to start a multi-player game against Russia. No matter how good the German tech is, Russia will swarm over them with the amount of manpower they have. You might have a chance against the AI, but a human player as Russia is unbeatable for Germany.

Given that I usually only play as Germany (I luuuuuv the German campaign, even though I have NEVER won in TRP with Germany), so if I would be Germany I will probably be losing that battle... :rofl: Nevertheless, an online game would be fun, I've never played an online game.

I come from the Netherlands, but I do have to work mon-fri, so I can't really play through the nights. Weekend's would be better though...?!

hehe u sound like a hustler to me, i bet if i went russia u would kick my ass!
have to say i would prefer germany as well but i would play as russia if i had to.

i also work mon-fri. maybe we can arrange a game then. sunday is a good day for me as i have the whole day to myself, that could be the day we play, also maybe we could play one more night durin the week but if u cant thats cool.

are u ok with just you and me playing. in the past ive found that the more players that play the more problems occur tryin to arrange sessions amongst other problems.

Nono... No hustling from me. I'm a TRP amateur. Seems to me like you're the PRO. But I can live with you kicking my 4ss... In the begining that is. I've never played Russia, or any other country besides Germany and Italy (and Italy was when I was still cheating :rofl: ).

I haven't been able to spent much time on the game; work and my other hobby (music) have kept me from playing TRP. I personally try to play as historically as possible as Germany, but ofcourse I can live with some raw action aswell.

In my games I've never captured Moscow. I could only dream of Stalingrad and Baku or any of the caucasus. The amount of units I, or rather, the amount of units the soviet A-I had, were my main concern. TC was my second most concern, ofcourse only after I entered Russia. So that gives you an idea of my ability. Or the lack of it. I really need to learn a lot more, seem to have the basics figured out (again, only as Germany that is) but multiplayer seems like a huge experience in this game.

I would even be satisfied watching you as Germany against the AI, and maybe play as Italy or something. For starters. Or would that be boring? As I said, I've never played HOI online, but would like to learn. Seems hectic to me...

Sunday's all day is fine... Though I Do have to walk my dog and eat somewhere around 18h. That's about 16h your time? Or was it 17h? Need to check that. Those 2 combined probably take about 1 hour, and then play on...? Would that be a problem? I could arrange a friend to walk the dog, but rather not. I can maybe play on till 01h Holland time but then I really need my sleep. 1 or 2 nights in the week would also be fine, just not monday's...

As to WHEN... Next sunday is fine. Sunday after is fine... Say it!

Btw, should mention I have HOI 2 DD ARM, TRP 0.92.1 with checksum YVGI. Is that good?

whats the checksum thing you mention? im playin with HOI 2 DD ARM, TRP 0.92.1 and also a naval beta patch which u can get on the TRP general forum and game runs fine.

i prefer keepin the game semi historic so no war before danzig and no russian vs germany war before lets say jan 41 although we could negotiate that. so
would u be happy playin as russia with me as germany then?

yeah sunday sounds good to me, u are 1 hour ahead of UK i think so thats no problem. are u on icq or msn? if so whats your addy so we can arrange

I might be interested in playing a sunday afternoon game. I have to wait until work gets me my new laptop (should be in a week) as my current one seems to feck up when I install HOI2 on it and I don't have internet at home so will have to play from work or something similar.

Also, I haven't played MP for a very long time so you will have to play nicely with me (p.s. I like to be the UK).

u say u will use a laptop, i imagine that would slow the game even further.
another reason is that with u goin UK it would unbalance the game against the german players. i was also hopin to start this sunday. we'l see what king benzai thinks

Yeah sure, the laptop I will have is a Intel dual core 2.2Ghz with 2Gig of ram, it's as fast (if not faster) as any other home PC. Just so long as I get it soon

Laffertytig, you're probably gonna kill me, but next sunday something has come up. A friend of mine has some considerable water-damage due to himself trying to adjust his waterpipes, but I can't say I won't help him because I'm going to play a game. The damage is to such an extend that he will probably be busy atleast 1-2 weeks, so saying 100% that I can play next week is also not possible.

Really REALLY sorry as I had been looking forward to finally entering a TRP-MP-game. Under normal circumstances this wouldn't have happened.

As for Easy-Kill joining... I personally think it would be nice to have a third player, though I have no experience with MP games, so can't comment on any of the destabilizing. I also imagine that the game would become far less historical, but I can live with that aswell.

I must admit feeling 'strange' about playing USSR. But quitters never win, so I'm going to give it a try.

I don't really have TRP, but from the looks of things I'd recommend Germany AND Italy versus the Soviet Union, given reasonably equal skills.
