How is this game in 1vs1 multiplayer? Basically, I can play Paradox games multi (only) with my son, more complex arrangements with more players are not easy to set up. We had some very good fun with Victoria 2, less so in CK2 as that game basically provides each in game person with it's own "life".

There are many challenging 1 vs 1 country combos in Vic2, some that require you to cooperate for some time, then fight, some that are exactly the opposite, some that end in short fast wars, some that are decided on prestige points without us ever going to a decent war with each other.

In MOTE I presume France will be too strong, probably matched only by Russia. Is there any point in playing combos like Austria and Prussia, Ottomans and Russia etc?

France is the land dominant power, and Britain is the naval dominant power. These two nations are the strongest in the game and are at war so a 1vs1 using France and Britain would make a lot of sense.
