I must be missing something because I cannot find a way to move a Battlemech from storage to one of the 6 bays.. I even removed on mech and still no way to move it. I have 1 in repair, 3 ready to go and one in storage. I have two open slots for two additional mechs but cannot find any way to move a mech into the bay that I got from salvage..

Anyone have any idea on this?

Well I just found out what is wrong.. apparently the mech I salvage can only be used for parts.. Now the question is, how the hell do you tear it down for those parts?

If the Mech is complete it should be able to be moved to the Mechbay slots. It will take a few days for Yang to ready the mech before it appears in the mech bay, ready to be outfitted. Is this happening for you?

Apparently this mech is part as 'parts only'... so I am trying to figure out how to use the 'parts', i.e. move the mech and parts out of storage now..

I tried mousing over the [0/3] Parts, [1/3] Parts, etc. but that area of the UI doesn't come with a tooltip on what it's suppose to mean. I've tried hunting up a "user manual" in the files and thru GOG, but no joy yet.

Do you have parts from two different variants? For me, they only showed as available after I did a mission. After the mission a popup from the repair guy said they were ready.

You're talking about mech salvage. You need to collect 3/3 of the same type of chassis to build a working mech. Either from mission salvage, or occasionally from the store.

You can see what chassis parts you have available in the mech bay under one of the tabs.

If you core a mech in a mission (destroying the central torso) you'll have one salvage available.
If you destroy both legs you will have two salvage available.
If you destroy the cockpit OR kill the pilot via injuries you will have three salvage available (complete mech instantly).

Assuming you negotiated for enough salvage to actually get them.

This is great info - should be on a FAQ somewhere, thanks!

I got it working.. Apparently something was glitched.. I exited the game, loaded back in and my saves were also all gone.. Troubleshooted that, loaded back in finally and they started being repaired/moved to the bays then...

Seems there are a few bugs to be fixed in the game.. LOL

Once you have the Argos... Yang claims he can rebuild mechs from salvage... and the tooltip for the 1/3 Centurion I have says I need to have it in a bay to refit it... implying that even a 1/3 should be able to be moved into the bay, even though it could take a while to make it combat ready.

If that's the case, why can't I move the hulk I've got rotting in storage?
If that's not the case, then the tooltip needs to be made clearer.

I spent 20 days and a lot of cash getting that second set of six repair bays :)

You need three parts of the same mech variant to get a mech.

Once you get a mech

The mechtech will give you some information on the mech in a pop up window.

If you have free space in the mechbay, you will find the new mech ready for use with stock loadout when you go to the mechbay.

If your mechbay is full, the mechtech will inform you of the problem and ask you to send one mech into storage. This mech gets stripped of its weapons which are ready for use.

If you want to ready a complete mech from storage, go to storage, click on a mech. The refit button on the right now says “ready”. Click that, and the mechtech will get the mech ready. This will take three days. The mech will appear with stock armor and without equipment or weapons on it.
