I've seen many references to "The Tudors" mini series. Is it really that good?

I've read that it mainly focuses on Henry's bedroom adventures only.

The Spanish movie "Los Borgias" is awesome. Also the series "The Borgias" is really good.

The Tudors is as good as people say, there is not so much sex after the first seasons since Henry is an old man in last seasons haha.

Il Mestiere delle Armi is really good (someone will maybe find it "slow"....), i can also recognize the places where i live, so for me it's a big plus

Brave and Commander (with Armand Assante), a somewhat weird but intriguing film;

Master and Commander, no comment needed on this masterpiece, i already read all the novels from Patrick o'Brian

I know but there is something new being developed soon called 'the vatican' i think its set in the modern era about papal intriques... thats what i read, unsure if theyve started to make it yet though.

yeah it's good. I own all four seasons on DVD. It's main focus is on Henry and it covers the years 1520-a few years before he died so you get to see him go through life into an old man. At the end of it I sort of felt sorry for the poor bastard, even though he was cruel at time toward "heretics" and five of his six wives. highly recommend it.

The Borgias--Showtime show about Pope Alexander and his family, a bit over the top, but very entertaining.
Borgia--More realistic Netflix Exclusive
The Tudors--Quality Series
Arn the Knights Templar--Swedish miniseries (during CK era not EU era but still relative imo)
Battle of Red Cliff--Asian movie about the Romance of the Three Kingdoms era (obviously much older but large battles are always relative.)
The Patriot--Has Mel Gibson
Braveheart--Super obvious choice. Also Mel

One of my favorites is "Battlefield Britain". Father and son team analyze various military campaigns as well as the weaponry used. It includes: The Armada, Naseby,
Battle of the Boyne, and Culloden. Descent computer recreations as well as reenactments.

It was funny to see Irons in the merchant of Venice after the borgias With all the shakespearean way of saying ,definitely not my cup of tea.

Semi-related but google the youtube video of Klaus Kinsky Mad and listen to the interview, I stumbled on it some days ago, the man was batshit insane! There was also some french interviews with him that were immortal gems!

Two french movies that you will easily find with english subtitle, La reine Magot ( war of religion, beautiful Isabelle Adjani ) and Cyrano de Bergerac , they should be easy to find in the "anglosphere"

Anonymous 2011 is a great movie, its the Shakespearean identity conspiracy theory but since I don't give a single hmnhm about Shakespear i loved it
