Introduction

Well here it is my first AAR I hope you all enjoy reading it I felt like writing this after reading AARS such as The Lone Wolf and the short lived Dragon Kings, which tell the stories from the point of view the lead Characters Jon Snow and Rhaegar Targaryen Respectively. So I felt like writing one from the perspective of Daenerys Targaryen I hope I can do well and do this character justice.

A few things I need to mention.

I will play this game until the Targaryens die out or the game stagnates.

No cheats

Feel free to leave comments and criticism but make the criticism constructive saying YOU SUCK is not helpful its just irritating. Also you are welcome to ask about what happened to a certain character i'll look them up and reply to you when I can.

With all of us on a ship captained by Groleo we headed out into the open sea. Jorah come up to Daenerys and started to speak. "Your grace we have two options available to us one we could remain on this ship and continue where no doubt the magister will have some scheme that he will put into motion, or we could head to Astapor in Slavers Bay and hire the best foot soldiers in the known world the Unsullied to aid your conquest of the Seven Kingdoms". Daenerys thought for a few moments. Illyrio has sheltered me once before why would he bring me back to Pentos he must some hidden agenda which I should find out about. On the other hand unsullied would be very good infantry but what do they cost I have no gold to pay for them. Daenerys sighed and turned to Groleo set a course for Pentos captain. "Aye your grace" he replied.

This Chapter serves as a intro to the AAR and I apologize for it being full of images (Anyone know how to put the show spoiler button on images?) settling for third person after some inner debate. Fear not next chapter The Dragon Queen shall begin the war for The Iron Throne in the first chapter of Mother Of Dragons.

Chapter I Returning Home

Daenerys would spend the months at sea being tutored by Jorah in the art of war. If Illyrio's plan called for her to return to Westoros she would return in the style of Aegon the Conqueror skilled at the art of war and armed with three dragons. Under Jorah’s tutelage she was taught the skills of warfare in extensive detail with him regularly quizzing her on things in order to further grain the knowledge into her mind. She would also improve her combat skills by sparring with him with virtually all of these lessons ending with her being beaten with ease. Still she carried on despite this but when she arrived in Pentos found she had not improved as much as she hoped. [1] It was also on the ship that she discovered the gift of charity after she gave a hungry sailor some of the food that had been set aside for her. From this point on she would become famously charitable [2]

As soon as she arrived on the docks at Pentos she was taken by an escort of unsullied to Illyrio’s vast manse when she was escorted to his presence he revealed his master plan that shocked her. It turned out that her nephew Aegon had been smuggled out of Kings Landing as a babe and been sent to the east were he had been living in safety and cared for by Jon Connington a friend of Rhaegar’s who had faked his death and fled to the east and joined the Golden Company who were now following Aegon as the former exiles now had a chance to return home. Daenerys was to marry Aegon and with both the golden company and dragons to aid them there victory was assured. With no choice in the matter Daenerys agreed. However before the marriage could occur Aegon disappeared and could not be found so the wedding was called off leaving the Queen unwed.

The forces of the Golden Company and Daenerys were combined into a host of over 10000 men and boarded the ships provide by Illyrio. This vast host had Jhogo one of her bloodriders on the left flank Daenerys holding the center and Jorah holding the right flank. The plan as devised by the Queen and her commanders was simple, taking this vast fleet of ships and men they would sail into blackwater bay and land at Rosby and then marching to King Landing and quickly assault it with an advantage in numbers capturing the King and ending the war at a stroke.

The fleet soon set sail and after a few weeks sailing arrived in blackwater bay and the army were sent ashore at Rosby and quickly marched to Kings Landing marching with such speed that they managed to catch a 3500 army led by Godwin Trant off guard. The following battle was a massacre as the center and right flanks of Daenerys army charged into the opposing side leaving them all slain for a loss of 184 men of their own. Godwin however escaped. With no threats at the moment the army settled in for a siege of the capital. With a fleet of ships in Blackwater Bay and the army covering all exits by land the defenders morale gradually whittled away over the coming weeks. The defense however was led by Balon Swann a knight well known for his brute strength and fierce fighting prowess. Every day one could see him walking the walls encouraging the men to greater heights of valour.

The siege continued to drag on with the armies of the Iron Throne focusing on Stannis rather than an army on Joffrey's doorstep. On the 1st January Daenerys came of age her tutelage under Jorah had paid off as she had become a brilliant strategist. It was also on that day that she decided to tame one of her dragons however since they were too young at this point she would have to wait. [3]

On the 5th of January 8300 Stannis won the war for the Iron Throne and Joffrey was forced to abdicate passing the throne to him. As a result all the armies of the Iron Throne fell under his banner and began to head to Kings Landing along with his army in Greensward nearby numbering roughly 10000 men. Realizing she could not defeat Stannis in battle because of reinforcement armies from the crown lands Daenerys ordered the armies onto the ships and sailed for Dragonstone Stannis seat. After arriving in the Dragonstone sea she landed on Driftmark and sailed across the Driftmark Strait to Dragonstone defeating a small army at the battle of Derlyn and lay siege to Dragonstone after a quick and bloody assault it was taken. Shortly after this the city of Derlyn and the Dragonstone septry fell under the Targaryen flag followed by Sweetport sound and the castle of Windwyrm which brings Dragonstone back under Targaryen control.

In addition the following lords have decided to support Daenerys in her war against Stannis

On the 5th of May the Queen's Pentosi Allies arrived and say siege to Driftmark taking High Tide its capital on June 16th with the temple falling shortly after things were going well in the Queen's war for the Iron Throne.

Chapter II The Throne Is Mine

The next few months were dull for the army of the Queen as they mostly consisted of sieges. The city of Hull fell on the 17th August followed by the castle of Nimmark on the 4th of October. The 11th October was an important date for this was the day that the Queen tamed Drogon here firstborn dragon giving here an even better chance of winning the war. Now that this ambition had been fulfilled she decided to improve her combat ability so that she would not be utterly defenseless if she was caught without her Dragon. In addition two more lords had decided to join her in her war.

The queen then ordered the army onto the ships and they sailed to blackwater bay the army then disembarked and settled in for a second siege would hopefully be better than their previous attempt. During the next few months Daenerys would be stricken by illness but would hopefully recover and many more lords turned his back on Stannis and joined the Dragon Queen. Here are all the lords/ladies who joined the Queen in her war against the false king Stannis.

Shortly after beginning the siege, the queen decided to unleash the might of Drogon on the capital. He caused much destruction killing much of the garrison and turning parts of the city into a wasteland places such as the street of steel would not be repaired until years later. Drogon would also be unleashed again a few months later causing even more devastation and leaving flea bottom virtually uninhabitable The street of silk was also destroyed at least getting rid one of the problems that afflicted the capital.

A few days after this baptism by fire the remnants of the garrison finally surrendered Stannis was dragged from the Red Keep and was put in the black cells. he was be judged shortly after he was placed in prison for his crimes.

Doran Martell was brought before the queen and pardoned for his crimes his infirmity and age would make sure he would not last long even if Daenerys had decided to kill him. Relations also played a part his sister Elia has been married to Rhaegar her brother thus making them related.

Sandor Clegane was brought in next and stripped of his white cloak for his various crimes. By accounts he took the cloak off threw it at the feet of the Queen and spat on it and then left such a man should not be allowed to wear a white cloak.

The only other Kingsguard to be stripped of his cloak was Richard Horpe a worship of the fire god, law dictated that a Kingsguard should follow the faith of the seven and as such his cloak was taken from him.

The Mother of Dragons now has reclaimed her birthright but can she hold onto the Iron Throne?

Interlude 1 301 AL

The Queen sat at a desk in her rooms in the Red Keep shifting through many piles of papers. She had only been Queen for a few days and there was much to be done. Repairs had just started on the city itself and parts of the Keep itself had been damaged by both the siege and the flames of Drogon, the recently updated small council was pressing Daenerys for a meeting to assess the realm and ask who she was to marry to secure her rule and two spots on the Kingsguard needed to be filled to replace the previous strainers of the white cloak. She took this all in her stride however she was determined unlike the previous two kings to take an active role in the governance of the realm.

Their was a sharp knock at the door and Ser Loras entered looking truelly like the paramount knight he was his armour was polished to a mirror shine and the blade at his side seem to glow with light. "Yes Ser Loras" the Queen spoke putting down a mound of papers as she did so, Maester Jon is here with that book you requested he smiled at little when he said his name but a quick look from Daenerys and the smile died. While it was known to many that Loras was attracted to men I would not have him trying to seduce him while on duty. Ah good she replied send him in.

Loras left the room and a few moments later the Maester entered carrying a large heavy book. He had the rugged looks of a Northman but his face had a certain handsomeness to it which is what Loras picked up on. He placed the book on the Queen’s desk and started to speak. "It is done your grace as you requested, in this book you will find the entire current lord Paramount’s and their heirs drawings of them all are at the top of the page related to the region".

"You have done well Maester you may go" said Daenerys, he bowed and left, the Queen opened the large tome and back to sift through the pages.

The North

Robb Stark also known as the Young Wolf married to Serra Frey they have one child Wynton born sickly.

The Riverlands


Hoster Tully the current lord of the Riverlands currently infirm and bedridden. [1]

Edmure Tully his heir, married to Catelyn Bracken they have one son William Tully.

The Vale

Robert Arryn the current lord weak and slow, and unlikely to survive the political intrigue of Westoros.

The heir to the Vale Harrold Arynn who is a distant cousin to Robert.

The Westerlands

Lord Tywin Lannister former Hand of the King.

His heir The Kingslayer stripped of his white cloak by Stannis Baratheon, married to Bethany a lowborn reachman no children have been born from this marriage.

The Iron Islands

Balon Greyjoy the Iron King of the Isles also known as the arrogant.

His last living male heir Theon Greyjoy married to Ingrid Goodbrother, They had one son Balon who died stillborn.

The Stormlands

Stannis Baratheon imprisoned by the Queen in Kings Landing is to have his title revoked and passed on to someone more worthy of trust. He will then be sent to the Wall. Married to Sylse Florent, one child from this marriage Shireen Baratheon.

The Reach

Mace Tyrell Lord Paramount of the Reach married to Alerie Hightower.

Willas Tyrell married to his cousin Megga Tyrell. No children from this Marriage.

Dorne

Doran Martell Hand of The Queen, but suffers from being imfirm and bedridden, so is unlikely to live for more then a few years.

Arianne his heir by Dornish law, Master of Whispers for the Iron Throne currently with child.


The Queen sighed and closed the book. The people within would be her main opponents as she attempted to close shut the wounds of the war of the five kings. The Small Council too would also be a problem as few of could be considered trustworthy. Kings Landing may be the called the capital of the seven kingdoms it was called by the small folk the city of liars.

A few minutes later as Daenerys continued to sift through the papers Loras strode in. Your Grace the Small Council request your presence.

Chapter III First Years Part 1

The Queen swept into the new Small Council chambers on the ground floor of the red keep, the chambers was on the ground floor for the sake of the Hand of the King Doran Martell whose infirmity limited his movement still it did little to limit his mental capacity making him a good Hand of the King.
Aside from the Hand of the King, the rest of the council was also present. Ryan Foote the Master of Laws brother to the current lord of Nunn’s Deep was a master of diplomacy and an honourable, kind man. The Master at Arms Jorah Mormont was there and his craggy face lightened up as the Queen entered the room wearing a black and red dress. Petyr Baelish the Master of Coin a man with an unequal knowledge of figures and intrigue. Arianne Martell daughter of Doran and heir to the kingdom of Dorne served as the Master of Whispers her belly bulged with child. Pycelle was the maester of the Iron Throne and his knowledge was unrivalled, the last member of the council was the Septon of Dragonstone who had a total lack of learning and suffered from depression.

Once pleasantries were out of the way the Queen and her council sat and she began to speak. “Doran I request that you over see the repairs in the capital to get it back on its feet”. “Ryon you do not need to do anything at present but once the lord’s fall back in line you may be sent on diplomatic missions”. “Ser Jorah you are to beginning training troops immediately the levies of the city must be replenished”. “Lord Baelish send out your tax collectors and beginning taxing the populace”. “Arianne sends forth your little birds in Kings Landing to whittle out the traitors and to discover plots”. “You all have your duties is there anything else that needs to be mentioned”. A few things your grace replied Doran a new commander of Kings Landing needs to be chosen, I recommend Lucos Chyttering he may be considered a selfish man by many but he is a good leader of men and a decent fighter. He should also be considered for the post of the Commander of the Gold Cloaks if he does gain the commander post. “I agree Doran he shall be chosen replied the Queen anything else”?

“Stannis is to be given a trial in a few days’ time which I will preside over replied Doran”; “In addition two new Kingsguard must be chosen to replace their disgraced brothers”. “The new Kingsguard will be chosen after the trial replied the queen anything else. One last thing your Grace said Arianne, it seems the former king Joffrey has been released from Stannis’s dungeon. He is a figurehead that the Lannister’s will rally behind to reclaim the throne what should be done about him? The Queen thought for a moment and then spoke “arrange for him to have an accident. Very well your grace she replied should anything be done about Tywin Lannister? Tywin Lannnister the man who had betrayed Daenerys's Father and practically handed the throne to the Usurper. A man who's skills at finances were impossible to match and a prime spinner of the webs of intrigue. A man who crushed all who opposed him and left nothing of them to be remembered for. "The dog is old the Queen replied bitter anger in every word and he is a man who assassins fear to kill old age will take him soon enough and then the Kingslayer shall be dealt with". This meeting is adjourned.

A few days later, the trial began; Stannis despite his significant martial ability had demanded a trail by court. His judge would be Hand of the King Prince Doran who seemed to be rather nervous perhaps because if he made the wrong decision it could provoke a city wide riot.

Doran would question the accused well but there were flaws in the argument that a good diplomat could pick up on, nevertheless his case had a solid base to it.

After much deliberation a verdict was reached. Stannis was pronounced guilty of his crimes, Daenerys proclaimed that he would pass on his lands and title and be sent to the Nights Watch.

With the War now officially over the Wardens of the South and West could take up their posts.

With two new members of the Kingsguard needed the Queen ordered that those loyal to her to present themselves to take one of the posts.

Jorah was one of the Queen’s most trusted companions having travelled with her from Qarth to Westoros and lead her armies to victory he was ordered to step forward.

It was said that Jorah wept tears of joy when he handed his white cloak as his love and loyalty to the queen had been rewarded.

A few days later one of the Queen’s vassals demanded that a vassal be transferred to him directly, Daenerys in order to keep him happy and to keep peace in the realm agreed to his request.

With the need for one more Kingsguard to protect the queen, Daenerys ordered that the greatest knights in the realm converge on the capital.

Out of these knights one man was chosen Rolland Storm.

Rolland Storm who had fought beside Renly then Stannis but kept true to his faith was given a white cloak.

Following this the Queen decided who to marry, however few high lords wanted to marry her to continue her line, the only choice was Edric Storm Bastard son of the Usurper and a member of house Florent. Despite this is was considered by the council the best course of action as Daenerys could have a powerful ally if he was granted the Stormlands. She also decided to tutor him in order to hopefully remove his cruelty and better himself.

A few days later the Septon of Casterly Rock sent a message to the queen informing her that the Usurper’s son would fall off the battlements of the castle. A few days following the message news reached the city of his death leaving one less claimant for the Queen to worry about.

With that taken care of the Queen decided to take Shireen out of the picture as following her death the Stormlands would pass to her which she in turn could give to Edric when he came of age.

Chapter IV First Years Part 2

In the Following weeks the Queen decided to implement Medium Crown Authority in order to limit vassal’s infighting, unfortunately the vassals were opposed to Daenerys getting more power and the law was not passed for several years.

In addition two Warden Titles stood empty, they were given to the respective lords of the Regions.

Following this Edric became old enough to marry and the Queen married him shortly after with any children being born of the marriage being of the Targaryen dynasty.

Shortly afterwards one of the conspirators informed the Queen that a plan to kill Shireen was in the works. It was carried out shortly afterwards and it was a success. The Stormlands were now in the Queen’s hands.

Many weeks later Edric would learn about the gift of chastity.

In the following months many things would occur. Firstly Robb Stark pressed his claim on the Riverlands through the blood of his mother Catelyn Tully, Edmure the new lord for his father had passed away weeks earlier begged the Queen to order him to stand down however he refused and the war dragged on.

Shortly after the war had begun, a brother from the Quiet Isle arrived in Kings Landing and requested a donation. Daenerys arranged some gold to be sent to boost her piety and allow her to ask for a coronation from the High Septon.

Edric under the Queen’s tutelage has improved his swordsmanship though he is overconfident and brash.

After all these events had occurred Aemon Estermont requested that the Stormlands be granted to him. Daenerys declined and shortly thereafter granted the Stormlands and Storm’s End to Edric to have a secure ally in the region.

A few days later the Queen sent a letter to the High Septon asking permission for a coronation in the Great Sept of Baelor, with Daenerys standing with the faith increased because of her recent donation to the Quiet isle he agreed and the coronation was held a few days later with the majority of the lords of the realm in attendance.

With a strong marriage alliance and her throne secure for the moment what will Daenerys do next? find out next time.

From what I can tell the event did not fire properly and the marriage did not occur, he does exist in game with all his standard traits minus blackfyre and he has no dynasty he currently resides in High Hermitage in Dorne.

Chapter V a Brief Period of Peace Part 1

Following Deanery's coronation, a feast was ordered in Kings Landing. Both to improve the weak relations between the Queen and her vassals and to show the wealth of her house. It was overall a success with many lords claiming it was the best feast in years.

A few days later the High Septon died in his sleep and a new one was selected from the clergy.

In addition Edric was seen in the courtyard sparring with knights on a regular basis, spending time with these men made him arrogant not diligent or brave.

In the next few months the queen would order that the defenses be improved in both the Red Keep and Kings Landing and on the 1st January Edric came of age and assumed control of the Stormlands.

Shortly after both Mace Tyrell and Lord Tywin called in their loans with both of them being unable to be payed they were extended for another few years.

Soon thereafter a plot began to form to replace the lord of the Vale Robert with his more competent heir Harold it was done later that month with the aid of the Strangler being placed in Robert's wine.

This was the beginning of a period of peace for the Seven Kingdoms a period untroubled by war and fear, how long will it last only time will tell.
