The failed revolution: July 1938 - October 1938
The French Communists have at last began to revolt against the democratic french government, excess infantry equipment is ordered to be sent to the French Communists to support their war effort.
The first and second union divisions, are sent to aid our Communist brothers, led by the competent field Marshal Alan Brooke.
However, it soon becomes apparant that the revolution has started with less support then believed. The French army is quick to wipe out communist forces in the Alcase Lorriane region allowing more French forces to advance on Brittany and Bordeaux.
Elsewhere the Commune is unable to break out of Brittany and remains passive, Brooke attempts to move his forces towards Cherbourg in order to gain a further port for the Commune as well as to break out of Brittany, but is forced to retreat when French reinforcements arrive and the Commune forces remain in their defensive positions.

Having fallen back to Rennes, Brookes organises another breakout hoping that some infantry divisions of the Commune will support him. They do but the breakout fails, when French reinforcements force Brooke to retreat to Rennes losing the gains aquirced.
Elsewhere, the revolution continues to falter. Bordeaux, a Commune city falls in late August under French pressure.
September arrives, bringing news of the formation of the fourth international, we true communists scorn this development.
Elsewhere, La Rochelle, one of the few remaining commune towns is under pressure from French forces.

Brooke attempts to retake Nantes with his forces by once again attempting to break out of the Brest pocket, once again superior french forces force him back.
Germany, France and England soon meet at Munich to decide the fate of Czechoslovakia, they are abandoned to the Germans.
On the 8th of September, the BSA company at last agree to support the production of infantry weapons. A focus on Radar in order to improve detection of aircraft and army divisions.
In France, the revolution is dying, Brooke in spite of his efforts to break out of Brittany has failed. Meanwhile the French have rallied their military might and begin to advance towards Brest, the Commune capital.
However, there is still good news at home using newly gained army experience the government orders that infantry divisions be equipped with two artillery divisions and 1 anti tank division.
The rest of the month passes with the situation in France spiralling out of control. By the 5th October Brooke's two divisions have been forced back to Brest and on the orders of the Union government disband themselves and return to England in small groups.
Elsewhere, Crusader meduim tanks which have been slowly built and put into storage, are now added to the tank brigades of the Union.
On the 27th October 1936 the French Commune official surrenders. The plan to have France as a staunch Communist ally against the German Reich has failed. Britain now stands isolated from allies in Western Europe...

I apologize for the missing images and possibly shoddy writing, its been a while since I actually sat down and wrote for the AAR, and a lot of images were cut out and as you can see I misplaced some of them. However, I hope to return to a more regular schedule for this AAR in the future stay tuned.

I guess that means you now face both France and Germany as hostile powers, no chance of an alliance now.

Indeed, hopefully my plan to break the chains in America will succeed and I will have an ally when Germany turns its sights to the union.

The failure of the French Communist to bring France under the banner of Communism was a serious blow to the Union of Britain. The Government now placed their hopes on an internal Communist coup in the United States.
Shortly after the treaty of Brest, the development of Radar was finished. Rajani ordered that the ties with countries that the Union was puppeting was to be strenghtened.
November, ended with news that our Communist brothers in Russia had withdraw troops from the Japanese border.
The months that followed were quiet at least until January. During this time industrial development continued, and the army was vigorously trained for future conflict. By January, ties were strengthened with other Commonwealth nations and service overseas, started to be implemented into the Union's army navy and air force.
January ended with the German Reich claiming the land of Memel in Lithuania.
The middle of February saw the development of a fighter to serve alongside the Hurricane. The improved fighter christened the spitfire would play an important role in the future of the Union of Britain.
March passed quietly, but April proved more troublesome. Czechoslovakia ceased to exist when Slovakia was created under a fascist leader and puppeted by Germany.
Army service overseas, also finished be implemented during January. Rajani ordered that the greatest minds in the colonies should work together for the betterment of the Union.
Indeed, the army soon found itself gaining additional support in the form of anti tank support battalions.
In Albania, King Zog submits to Italy, given the Italian Facists a foothold in the Balkans.
4 motorized divisions were also ordered to be formed, to support the 1st army of the Union.
June, saw Italy conduct a pact of steel with Germany, this resulted in Italy joining the Axis. The focus on encouraging elites in the colony's to work together to further research was also completed. This in turn, resulted in the order that the ties in the commonwealth be strengthened.
June also saw the creation of a pact between Germany and Russia, this pact was celebrated by the workers of the Union, but many of us in the Government are still concerned about Germany.
July, saw France ban Communism resulting in the Democratic party having utter control over the nation.
August was a month where everything came to a head. Poland refused Germany's ultimatum concerning Danzig, which resulted in Germany declaring war on Poland. This act was to send shock waves throughout the world and begin the Second World War.

This was at the top of the AAR Forum, so I thought I would peek in. I love it! And I hope all goes well in the Union through the coming storm.
WW2 is a-go, but who's allied against Germany in this timeline? Britain and France is not allied, and is the colonial nations of Britain allied to her still?

The Union is not a part of the Allies faction, since I ended up leaving it to be come a part of the Comintern. After the next chapter, I will load up the game and give an analysis of who is allied to who.

As the Second World War began, ties with the commonwealth had been strengthened resulting in a more cohesive empire. (I should note that this focus has no effect period if you are non democratic, you cannot progress any further down the tree if you are Fascist or Communist)
With Germany knocking on their door, Poland asked for a non aggression pact it was duly signed on the 28th August.
That same day, Rajani ordered the creation of the London Aircraft Production Group, its job was to coordinate aircraft production in the Union. It would take some time to come into being.
September arrived, and the following days saw the Polish army gradually lose ground to the trained and technologically advanced German forces. On the 22nd of September Germany declared war on Luxembourg, two days later they surrendered to Germany.
Following this, Germany set its sights on the Netherlands and Belgium declaring war on them in less then 24 hours on the 24th and the 25th of September.
Germany proved to be a vicious attacker, sending both men and tanks at three different nations and sweeping them aside without difficulty. News about the war proved difficult to come by. On the 7th of October, Communists in the Netherlands sent word that the Germans were advancing on Rotterdam, having broken through the Dutch soldiers at the border and taken the city of Eindhoven.
The few weeks that passed brought little change to the war's conclusion, Poland continued to be overrun by German forces. The Dutch military in Europe was none existent, so it fell to the Belgians to hold both their own lands and the Netherlands, against the Germans. They were aided in this by several soviet volunteer divisions.
On the 21 October 1939, Poland surrendered to Germany and was annexed.
Belgium surrendered a week later, once Brussels was overrun in spite of a heroic defense by the Belgians.
The USSR, occupied Eastern Poland, a move that brought little joy to the Union, as members of the Government believed this merely lulled Russia into believing Germany would not betray them in the future.
October, concluded with the Netherlands surrendering to Germany, once Rotterdam fell.
The next day, Rajani fearing that France would soon fall and that Germany would turn its sight to the Isles, ordered that more coastal forts be built on the south coast in order to hamper German landings. Furthermore, with the British Aircraft Production group having been created, young men were ordered to receive basic military training in preparation for the inevitable showdown with Germany and its allies.
