I hate both CK2 vanilla and most of the mods, because of one reason.

Why do you have to have all vassals be at certain level of relations with you to change some laws? Why should a ruller care about 1-2 weak idiots that hold some grudge. If most of my vassals support change, i should have the ability to ram the laws even if there is minor opposition, and opposition can try to leave the kingdom, to hell or to heaven, as far as i care.

As far as i`m aware, the only country stupid enought to have a single person(representative/vassal of the crown) having an undefeatable right to veto anything, was Poland, and we know how it ended, making the country`s parliament basically never function. There certainly should be a way to curb that power of nobility, if nobility would even want to have that.

Having all wassals to like you enought to crown autority change(CK2+) or succesion laws(vanilla), makes little sence, especially when you have high or absolute crown autority.

So i have to make personal mod to edit out that part from vanilla.

But aren't most of the Civ and Elder scrolls mods hosted at external sites anyway? Over here Paradox provides both facilities and even support to the modding community. Which makes it sensible they want to make sure those people are also customers.

While I agree that Paradox surely and without any doubts supports the modding community. I think, in the "facilities" subject, that it's much easier to download and install mods for Civ and Elder Scrolls (Of course mods for those games, Elder Scrolls in special, tend to be much more complicated) simple because there are platforms dedicated entirely to that, like the Nexus Mod Manager or even the Steam Workshop.

I'm not saying Paradox needs any of that, their mods are very easy to install already. I only think that you can't award them for "facilities" if they don't provide much. (But I certainly agree that they don't need to provide much anyway)

Respected !

The more relevant stat would be the average time played on each mod

But you won't have the data for the number of players, because you could re-calculate the whole sales.

Never saw a game publisher do that before years

Nonetheless I estimate CK2's sales at 400K unit

I was onto something, nobody cared

I think it is not so hard to opt out those restriction via decision, but it will look quite ugly though.

99% of all mods ever made are half-assed, unfinished and most of the time not really thought thru. in other words they are most of the time just bad and 81,5% of the players know this.

That's very unfair to the people who play mods. The vast majority of mod-players choose from a small number of well-developed mods.

Mods are basically house rules to the game.

You know, like in Monopoly, where free parking giving you a huge jackpot, and landing directly on Go gives you double the money, and then people complain that the game takes too long.

Quick question re. the survey: if I start the game directly rather than via steam, will Pdox still get my results? IIRC, I signed up for the survey one time when I opened the game through Steam, but I rarely do that.

The problem with mods in CK2 is the fact that no one targets what is affecting the vanilla game; particularly the problem of succession and religion.

It seems like every time I play succession crises happen everywhere from England to Persia there's a huge splitup. I know the time period was full of these things but not to the extent the entire Byzantine Empire gets Balkanized to hell and back every 50 years.

And with religion, heresies are too challenged. I know Catholics and Sunnis don't like heresy very much, but still. Cathars, for example, should be able to make their own Pope or whatever to help them. These people were still Christians/Muslims after all, it's not like they were kinslayers or something.

I use the GG version, and got asked to participate, so, I assume so.
