I mean, which countries in your games tend to inexplicably completely fail/collapse without human intervention? :p Or generally: fall stupidly, lose wars with smaller countries, behave like idiots etc... I have ridiculous feeling that some coutnries have 'personalities' due to them having similar features in many games.

In my EU4 universe:

- VIJYANAGAR for some reason every time dominates 1/3 - 1/2 of India and seems to be superpower and then suddenly completely collapses due to ONE lost war: loses one medium - sized war and then everything completely goes to hell and Vijyanagar is reduced to minor in few decades or even YEARS (in my last game), every 5 minutes I see new tag releasing from it's rotting corpse.

- HUNGARY is always bullied by all its neighbors from Austria through Bohemia to Bosnia (!!) but it doesn't even have a dignity to fall, it just stagnates for the entire game being constantly beaten by everyone and being the least advanced country in Europe.

- SCANDINAVIA always does nothing but is ravaged by Denmark - Norway - Sweden wars which are so ridiculously retarded that the entire peninsula looks like a place where biggest idiots from all continent are sent. I mean, Denmark collapses while being beaten by such powers as Holstein (...), Sweden has absurd problems with annexing Iceland and can spend 200 years doing nothing but fighting Norwegian rebels, said rebels are generally walking everywhere often controlling half of Scandinavia and nobody cares about this failed area like all its good genes were sent overseas during viking invasion.

I'm having a IA muscovy in 1580 and STILL didn't colonized anything. His ideas are religious, defensive and trade... TRADE!!!! Even worse, I'm playing as Byz and I obviously need his big army to survive :(

Ally Poland, that's all you need (at least in most of my games they over-perform).

If that counts its 1700+ and the mamluks still have 1 province left, so the Ottomans arent doing great :D.

Ottomans in my game can handle the Commonwealth and Muscovy pretty easily, I had to migrate to Crimea to survive! It's amazing how good the Ottomans are now in 1.8

Certainly Switzerland. IRL they beat austrian and burgundian armies due to their defensive terrain and clever use thereof. Well, one could argue it was due to defensive terrain and enemy stupidity. But whatever. Ingame they are the EUIV equivalent of Victoria 2's Africa.

Muscovy won't colonize unless it gets a coastal province - so if it was slow to take Novgorod, they'll take religious first, and it goes downhill from there.

In my games, Timurids always collapse fairly early. Kazan and Uzbec always die a painful death, regardless if its at my hands or not :)

Poland/Lith in my game. Okay, I was at mil tech 7 (Byzantium), allied to Poland/Lith, and Poland had 3!!!!!!!! They were slightly saved by Lith who had 5, but they were fighting enemies with 6 (Muscovy and Novgarod), or 7-8 (Europe). They were getting their asses handed to them before I showed up to beat the 18 stack of enemies.

England always under performs in my games. I've seen posts here saying they can win the 100 years war now but I've seen no evidence of such when I've stayed out of it. As Castile my allying France and Burgundy might keep Burgundy from helping England by declaring on France, but in most of my games Burgundy declares on England instead of France no matter what I am doing.

In my Castile game at war with England, oh great, they can land troops now, yep, in stacks of 15 to get wiped by 36 stack whilst I finished building my fleet. I killed four full stacks of 15 and by the time I invaded they had rebels and were 600 in debt. Way to go landing.

Ottomans. Never ever saw them even close to Vienna. Or for that conquer all of Hungary. Sometimes they manage to take the Mameluks, but often they do not.

The Bahmanis are too strong in the start of the game. Big country, muslim with a 6mil leader. Plus it's really easy for muslim to find valuable allies while in the same time Orissa and Vijayanagar are rivals :\
No wonder that Vijay is collapsing so often.

Sadly for me in most my pre 1.8 games POL-LIT usually falls badly and I`d rarely seen commonwealth aswell. For now they seem to do a bit better.

rest of my TOP 5 underperformers would be:

brandemburg-teutons -> never seen prussia
most hordes are steamrolled by russia usually
pre 1.8 burgundy always dead before 1500, however in 1.8 in my 1st game they had obliterated france with ease o_O
scandynawia, no matter denmark, sweden or norway, I hink norway is the worst of them but they newer do as good as in reality they did
Persia, rarely see them, and if they do appear it is nothing spectacular- few provinces at most

The Ottomans. They always waste their manpower policing the hordes. Sometimes they conquer Byzantium and some of the Anatolian minors, but in most cases they don't do anything for most of the game. They're even more passive, if Genoa takes Constantinople, because they don't want to fight Austria. They're then divided between Venice, the Mamluks and several of the Balkan countries. It's not like I want them to threaten Vienna every game - but they should be at least able to unite Greece and Anatolia. :(

Hungary also fails every time. Since Paradox removed their core-cost modifier, Hungary gets conquered by Bohemia most of the time.
