I've clocked 55 hours in Cities in Motion 2 -- I love it, but I have to ask about the completely absurd life choices of my citizens. Let's take a look at Brittany Ghrahm.
Brittany lives in the southern part of Western City, and works at the Gas Plant far in the north. There are metro lines leading east and north -- both of which will serve to get her to work on time. She gets up for work and begins her journey by heading to a metro station. Coincidentally, many trains which leave this station will take her within walking distance from work, she need only get on one of those trains. Unfortunately, Brittany is a transit masochist of the worst kind. Her brain-addled processes leads to this set of bad decisions, from which we can all learn:
Similarly, we can case study Stephanie Blake. This student would love to go to the theater, which is literally across the street from her house, so obviously:

- Take Bart Metro CC (counter-clockwise region-wide circular) S for 2 stops
- Take TLP (a local line) Metro East for 3 stops
- Take the trolley west for 6 stops (now she is back close to home)
- Walk two blocks
- Take Bart metro CC N (which is identical to the CC S route) past 2 cities
- Get off before this very train will take her to work in the city prior, at the west metro station
- Take a local light rail line east 5 stops
- Switch to a bus route going south 2 stops
- Get back on Bart Metro CC heading to work
- Leave at the Bart station which is 2 blocks from her work, and within the service radius
- Get on the local bus circular and ride it south 3 stops
- Get off, and walk an equivalent distance from the Bart station to her work, only to another bus station
- Take the bus north 3 stops
- Arrive at work after an 18 hour commute
Similarly, we can case study Stephanie Blake. This student would love to go to the theater, which is literally across the street from her house, so obviously:
- Walk to a an east-bound bus stop
- Ride the trolley east for two stops
- Get off, cross the street and walk to the west-bound bus stop
- Ride the trolley west for two stops
- Walk to the theater
