More zoom, please

hi, probably this has been discussed before, but i didnt get across any threat that talks about it. my problem is that it is very difficult to play on some parts of the map, even with the maximum zoom and resolution. for example, i was playing france, and i had a war against luxemburg and burgundy, and it was very difficult to pick the correct army, because of these small provinces (flandern, brabant, artois, luxemburg, koln, calais...) and it was even more difficult to select the province itself. it was all very confussing, with armies, sieges, smoke, manufacturies, COTs.

well, what i want to ask is if there is any tool or file that makes it possible to get even closer to action, or play with more resolution. or maybe someone knows a moddified map or a totally different skin for the game that makes it easier to play with smaller provinces.

of course, in SP it is not a very important issue, as you can always pause the game and take all the time you need, but in MP it is different, sometimes you are in a hurry and need some precission.

As far as I've understood from the map-hacking discussions adding another zoom-level would require a complete overhaul of the map and graphics engine, so don't expect it to happen...

What resolution are you playing on? EU2 supports a variety of resolutions including 800x600 and 1024x768 and higher. If you're on a higher resolution, scale down to a lower one and the stuff on the map gets bigger at the maximum zoon.

i am playing at 1024x768. i will try at 800x600, but i suppose that everything will become bigger, not only provinces, but also armies, cannons, COT, etc. so, i am not sure if it will be of much help. anyway, i will try.

btw, i didnt know that the game could be played at higher resolution than 1024x768. how can it be done? just by having a higher desktop resolution? i have a desktop resolution of 1600x1200, but when i launch the game it automatically sets resolution to 1024x768

PS: uupppppssss!!!! my bad. i am in fact playing at 1280x1024. anyway, my question remains. is it possible to play at even higher resolution (even though i know that it is contrary to the fact of seeing things bigger)?

No. Nor will anything be changed in how many levels of zoom are supplied. You'll just have to cope with it as is, just like everyone else has for the last 4 years.

I have dreamed of an extra zoom-in level. It would especially help for custom maps with more provinces. Nevertheless, one can only dream.

Apparently there was another level of zoom but it was scratched because it didn't look very good.
