Need to figure out a way so that my army isn't completely destroyed by the time I recognize Belgian semi-autonomy.
shouldnt be too hard to destroy the belgians, i managed to do it on my first ever game and with no knowledge of the game engine. that said, they beat me when i tried the other day so i must have been lucky.
so it seems. the dutch ai actually did a pretty good job against me the other day as belgium, before i turned it off in disgust. i then swapped sides and the belgian ai did quite nicely, too. beaten by a computer, its shameful.
actually, now i think back, i seem to remember that prussia helped me quite a considerable amount with beating the belgians when i first played.

In my experience that war can go either way very quickly. I suppose that can be said for all wars, but this one especially since it begins before the game does so you can't prepare like normal.
Most likely Clippit (or Vincent van Clippit) will refuse to accept Belgian autonomy or anything, leading to Prussia getting involved in the conflict, and beating the crap out of the Netherlands, reducing the country to it's colonies in Indonesia. Then, it becomes an Indonesia AAR. Then, I'll likely tell Clip that it's why I'm doing all the work, and we'll start over.
