More from Arheo, this time succession support in a republic. Republic succession calculation is now a lot more visible, and uses statesmanship instead of prominence

I like this, but I hope they tweak the co-consul position abit such that it isn’t a glorified consort: for example, when the co-consul dies, the election term should not be extended, as this would allow the other consul to serve a 10 year term in essence.

Expanding on this, succession support for governors could also be established, but the player could use PI to try and get their man for the governorship.

This goal should surely be to be able specialise your cities, with a diverse range of buildings, to be given real choices with advantages and consequences, but to prevent stupid OP spam cities with populations of billions (Tyrion throwing up meme) and ridiculous bonus stacking. To me, strategy games are ruined by min/making the crap out of everything and cheesing systems, that's for Legend of Total War and his ilk on YT to appeal to the masses with their "Pretend TW: Warhammer II" videos.

Let's hope it's accessible for modding...the De Re Publica mod could benefit a lot

Too bad that you can't see in the pic, if that character has 100% health or not - I wonder, if health is still such potentially detrimental factor and if so, whether the tooltip showing the impact has been fixed.

Arheo said in a thread, that we will no longer see a health bar for characters in 2.0 (there was one in an earlier screenshot of the new UI, but the bar gets removed until release). So maybe health is no longer a thing or otherwise I hope there is an appropriate adjustment.

Are they still implementing new features? I like new features, but 2.0 release can take forever.

Maybe it is a balancing issue, they need to gate imperium through inventions because it is OP and you can get it very early on game. Before this, it was mainly a matter of size:

Government - Imperator Wiki (paradoxwikis.com)

Somehow, it does not feel right to be gated by inventions. No need to invent IMPERIUM. You need to fulfil some political and social conditions... not inventing a type of government.

The formality of the Forums was long lost to the informal writing style of newer generations, but the reach of twitter may be the end of it.

You will note I maintain a healthy presence on both ;)
Thank you, and I appreciate it very much. In my mind I was thinking in general how things are evolving. It is clear that twitter, youtube, and other media have far more reach than forums like this one. I am concerned about how to structure all this data and the quality of the information.
