In Dev Diary #30 Johan showed us the National Focus panel for France, which is full of fun choices, especially in the Reform Government tree. In Dev Diary #25 He told us about how appointing particular ministers can boost support for one of the factions, eventually possibly triggering a civil war that forces you to choose a side and, if victorious in your glorious revolution, establish your new government. (see Dev Diary #34... okay, yes, I might have been trolling your forums a *bit* much)
So my question is, given this information, does France have a way to reform its government through the National Focus tree and change government types without violent civil war? or does this national focus path merely make them part of the Axis or Comintern alliance while leaving them a democracy-type government?
I want to play as France, turn Fascist and found a Third French Empire to stand against the Third Reich and if that means violent civil war to overthrow the weak and fractured government well... it wouldn't be the first time... but if I can do this by disingenuous political reforms followed by stabbing Germany in the back after I "join" the Axis well... so much the better.
The game looks great I can't wait to preorder it.
I support the decision to allow the game as much time as needed for a fun, polished product at launch, even though I desperately want to play this game.
