I noticed that you can only ever have one wargoal against an enemy you DOW. So if you have 3 cores on France and declare reconquest of Caux, you have to pay full AE for your two other cores?

Same with fabricated claims apparently. You can have tons of claims on a country, but when you DOW, you can only pick one wargoal and have to pay full AE price for the others. Diplomatic cost is lower though.

Any thoughts on this? Even if you take a core when being attacked, you pay full AE costs. Or is AE really not that big a deal? In EU3, the equivalent infamy was very serious and a limiting factor.

How to take land from somebody else efficiently with low AE, dip power, and war score costs?

Make them a rival. -33% cost of asking for provinces and other Peace actions.

Yea, I noticed. Do the -33% pertain to AE, dip power, war score, or a combination, or all of them?

Seems pointless to fabricate more than 1 claim on somebody when you have to take them in separate wars. Or simply dont give a damn and make so many claims as provinces you can take, and simply eat the AE.

If you fabricate claims on more than one. You can get any CORES at the cheaper rate and if you can afford it take more than 2-3 provinces in a war. So you will be able to swallow whole countries! just fabricate the Claims first. The Rivals thing will lower the Diplo and Warscore cost of provinces so you can ask for more provinces.

The lower costs will affect the cost of non core provinces in treaty also.

Think of it as another soft cap infamy/badboy limit.

It basically gets down to How well your "Winning" and how many Diplo points you can afford.

Also I think there are Ideas that lower costs also.

yeah aggressive expansion builds up fast. as the ottomans i got a coalition like 8 years into the game because i pretty much went nuts with AE. So, either take fewer things in one go, make them a rival, make them a vassal (only 45 diplo points for several provinces) or full annex (45 diplo points) if you want to minimize diplo point costs. I assume making them a rival reduces diplo costs. make sure u have enough admin points to annex them though. I annexed half of morroco as Portugal but i couldnt core the four provinces because of +200% coring costs (400 for Fez? really? makes north africa pretty worthless now lol).

I think if you do have a claim/core on a unwargoaled enemy province, the only thing you do get is a 50% reduction on diplomacy points that it requires.
