hey all ;)

i just got this game and I really like it, I have a question

is there anyway I can mod the game to allow my country have more tech team slots available for research?

I just can't keep up with the industrial powerhouses and the U.S. has their hand up my ass pulling my strings

hehe I just don't know how thats all. you can in doomsday but I assume you are using vanilla HOI2

there's got to be some simple switch in the one of the files. any idea which file that might be? USA can have 8 teams researching nuclear weapons and ICBMS along with civilian infrastructure improvements.

my modest cuban empire can't tempt the beast just yet

IIRC the tech limits are hard coded. You start of with one tech team and gain one tech team at 20/40/60/80 base IC.

Like anyone else, the USA can only have a maximum of 5 Tech Teams.

Every country gets 1 Tech Team. For every whole 20 base IC's (the right-most number at top right of screen) you get another Tech Team, to a maximum of 5... so with 79 base IC's, you would get 4 Teams, but with 80+ base IC's you get 5 Teams.

The only easy way to mod your game to give Cuba more Tech Teams is to increase Cuba's base IC's, by either building more Factories, or adding more Factories in the scenario setup or the saved game.

If you didn't want their total IC's to change, you could add more Factories, but also give them an Industrial Efficiency penalty... to drop the Net IC's back down to the previous level. That way they would have more teams, but the same total IC's as before.

I did not know that the number of tech teams was based on your IC and indeed can and will change throughout the game.

I started the game as Cuba because I couldn't handle america or the SU, and I'm not good enough to do well with germany yet, still getting a feel for the game.

thanks for clarification.. I must've missed that part of the tutorial :rofl:

well looks like I better get going on those factories.. :D

I am not sure about DD , the number of tech team slots is tied to the IC that counrty has,I think you can increase the slots by increasing the IC, if the build IC during the game you will increase your slots,I don't remeber the extra IC = tech team slots
