There have been FOUR (plus one crazy I won't count) shroud gods. Maybe it's time to add more.

Any idea?

There's already a hint of another one in one of the events, including a name, if I recall correctly.

The four Shroud gods are based off of the 4 Chaos Gods of Warhammer 40K. The Composer of Strands is based on Nurgle. the Eater of Worlds is based on Khorne, the Whisperers in the Void are based on Tzeentch, and the Instrument of Desire is based on Slaanesh. Given the (likely intentional) parallels, I don't think the devs will expand the pantheon.

The animator of clay.
Only shows up for robots if I remember correctly, and only through a special event in a digsite, however it's also mentioned when you are about to form a covenant with the composer of strands.

Seeing as the shroud gods are tied to ethics, and give you more benefits if you are those ethics. If new gods are added, it should probably be for those four ethics without one (pacifist, egalitarian, xenophobe, spiritualist)

Personally, I'd be more down for two covenant-paths unrelated to any soul-eating gods of evil; one focused around the chosen one, and one focused around not forming a covenant and having your people learn to master the shroud on their own.

The former would be a path based around the chosen one, turning them into a truly powerful being to rival the gods themselves, unlocking new bonuses that are focused around the chosen one. Very powerful stuff, unless they happen to die of course and all of that time ends up being wasted.

The second would be more open-ended, with random events letting you determine your people's destiny on their own. You will carefully have to choose between different bonuses and drawbacks, thematically themed based off both your ethics and whether your people choose to venture into the shroud as individuals or as a collective, maybe even giving you the opportunity to turn into a psychic hive-mind if you so choose.

40k has more deities than those 4 though, the God-Emperor of Mankind, the Laughing God of the Harlequins, the God of Death of the Ynnari, and the god of Love of the Aeldari, plus several dead ones and severeal Shattered dieties like Khaine, or the C'tan. And also some smaller entities with aspirations of Godhood like Malice and Vashtor.

Giving the Chosen one more deity like powers would be a great addition to a certain DLC that is coming out next week. The Cegorach I would like added to the empires that don't have spiritualist ethic, gives you the ability to trade in your burecrats for buffed up Culture Workers, basically turning you into an empire centered around art and culture rather than dystopic bureocratic nightmares. Isha would be a cool one to add as well, if another empire has completed the ascension and has their deity you have the chance to get a diety who is trapped and imprisoned by the first empire's Deity, if you are able to defeat that empire then you will have an Operation to free your Deity. The circumstances will be littered with events as the enemy diety will try to use the Shroud to defeat you while your imprisoned Diety will help undo the damage.

Looks like we are getting at least one new Shroud entity confirmed to be channeled through one of the Legendary Leaders in Galactic Paragons, all for getting more in addition to this though.

it will be interesting too see how they work them into the new leader system will 'the Chosen One' get special destiny or normal traits?.. it would be nice if they rebalanced the current ones a bit maybe reduce the downsides too make them more appealing at least.. i only go for Eater of Worlds cos he adds so much power as an admiral too your fleets.. but jeez the 100% upkeep costs hurt.. the other 3 bonuses seem a bit limp for the downsides attached too them..
