I'd like to see more RPG elements - relationships, meaningful choices that affect the game - a inner spear sim like CK2 sort of. I'd really like to be able to call for a surrender if a opponent is grossly outgunned, maybe with a leadership skill or charisma maybe in combination with a reputation ... do you usually release prisoners ? I'd also like the ability to project a threat zone around you that APCs can't move though without taking damange, it's insane that on a kill the apc mission they drive right by 2 of my mechs and they do nothing

I'd prefer a threat zone that APCs attempt to avoid entirely...because coming closer to a mech is just stupid for APCs.

Unfortunately, I think a CK2-like game for BattleTech is not something that will happen in this game...but I'd love to see it happen!!!

you should try BT Advance 3062, a promising mod found at nexus, pretty fun, lots interesting rpg features added to the game, pilots in enemy lance get stressed (and can panic) and will eject from their mech if they take some heavy damage..

but I do agree, many people have expressed their opinions that they want the AI to be smarter, but what is the AI supposed to do when it is down to one very damaged mech against your mostly intact lance? what is the smart thing to do? as of now the AI will melee you if that is all it got left...its a waste of time. in the Total War series of game (pick any of the last five tittles) when the victory is secured a message will prompt the player to either claim victory and end the battle or pursue what is left of the fleeting enemy, I think finishing off the enemy has the benefit of giving experience to your troops making them stronger, I do think BT would benefit from a similar feature.
