One thing that has bothered me since release has been the arbitrary limit on conversion options for pagan countries during Westernization.
As it stands right now, events only exist for conversion to Catholic, Protestant, and Reformed faiths. While this works simply because it is overwhelmingly likely that these three faiths will be the vast majority (if not the only) religions represented in the New World, I do think it is excessive railroading.
It is far from difficult for a player, or even certain AI countries if they get lucky, to colonize with a non-Western Christian religion. A game ported from CK2 might also have a radically-different religious makeup among the colonizers. So why are heathen natives not allowed to convert to Sunni, Orthodox, Vajrayana, (etc...)?
I think the inclusion of more conversion events covering all non-Pagan religions would greatly aid in immersion, as well as give players (whether they be colonizers or natives) more options in how they play the game while still remaining well within the realm of plausibility.
